Infantry combat is lame when you've got precision long distance rockets and bomber planes capable of decimating a wide area within minutes. Infantry can use their technical gadgets and go invisible and all that shit, but against a nice air to surface missile they'll be reduced to tiny hints of ashes and liquid goo.
Infantry combat isn't the future. It'll all be drones, rockets and shit. I know that because I've been to the future and it saves a lot more lives that way, for one side of the conflict anyway...

You need cybernetics/prosthetic limbs just to lift a rifle in the future. Not enough vitamins, or some fool made the guns so heavy that they had to issue cybernetics to everyone in the armed forces.
