I'm relatively early into the game (at least I think) so I guess I will check that Rebel shield when I find it (I've heard great things about it). Also, good thing I've been boosting my END in the last few hours and haven't had problems blocking 3 consecutive hits from big bosses (sometimes 4) so far, but yeah, I guess for the late bosses that won't be possible.

Is it worth it taking END to 30 or beyond?

i would stop leveling anything in ng as soon as you get diminished returns, as in only 1 point per level.
putting 1 point into end is a waste of a soul level, when you could put 4 points into str or dex.
try to get agl close to 100 if you can, for safer evasion.

I have Agility at 97 right now, so I guess I'm close to reaching that desired level. Anyway, I have END @ 20 and I read that diminished returns start right there, only 1 pt. stamina after level 20. So I guess I shouldn't be wasting more souls on it.

not atm, use the souls for another stat you need.

On consoles they got a fix for the Shrine of Winter door not opening regardless of meeting the soul memory or boss souls requirements (including that orb thing people miss), so I hope this fix comes to PC soon. Im basically sitting here with my dick in my hands because this game is borked.

This isn't so bad considering you're not using parry or ballistas. I got raped the first time trying to dodge the fucker, saw a sign that said try parry then projectile or something. This is my second try, I was pretty shocked afterwards, just kinda stood there gazing at the view and praising the sun Laughing

Yeah, parry then ballista to the face is the way to go.

Usually I don't take 'shortcuts' in boss battles, but I found this one incredibly tedious.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I tried autohotkey and it did nothing for me. My biggest gripe right now is the mouse lag. I can't get past the beginning of the forest level after dying twice already.

I was just invaded for the first time ever in a DS game. Apparently got invaded by 3 Bell Keeper fuckers at once. The first one got separated and came at me first but I mopped the floor with him. Just as I killed him I got suddenly hit by one of the other 2 and a three-minute fight ensued but they got me in the end.

It was great fun though! I will go there again but with some summoned companions this time Cool Face

Piemanfiddy: Soul level is NO LONGER a factor in matchmaking, PvP or otherwise. It is PURELY based off of soul memory. Yes, a person with extremely high soul level may invade low soul level folks, if they have similar soul memory. Do you get it?

If one person actually thinks about their build and makes a character at SL150 with certain skills they want, their soul level will stay the same but as they keep playing the game their soul memory will get larger and larger. Other people who might have decided to not stop leveling up will still be in the same soul memory range. They will be matched with each other and it won't be a fair fight!

Yup, started a new game as soon I found out about this too Laughing

I just didn't use a ton of souls, which resulted in them being gone eventually... and then I found out and felt like dumbass Laughing

One of the few spots where I had to consult a walkthrough as well (the other one was for the fact that you have to talk 7-8 times to a particular merchant to advance with the main quest, total bullshit). Yeah, they pulled some cheap tricks with this one, just for the sake of artificially making it harder.

True, but even then if you happened to visit the area a second time and then free that NPC later on you would have a clear enough starting point.

This has neither, or at least nothing I did pick up.

Damn the darklurker. Boss is fine enough in itself, but needing to use effigy's for each time you want to try kind of gives you no room for practice.

Just arrived at the Gutter, VERY BAD PLACE Shocked

According to the following list, i have only just finished about 60% of the game after 50 hours Everything Went Better Than Expected
http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Locations

I really want the Avelyn crossbow, but still some zones away
http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Locations

I also saw one person wielding two of them in pvp. How is that possible if only one of it can be found at one playthrough? Surprised
Or can you invade people in NG, while you are at NG+?

bonfire ascetic
makes the area NG+, so items respawn as well (or spawn different items in NG+)

before using the ascetic keep in mind that you "level" that area to ng+, so when you actually go into ng+, that area will be ng++ which could make the bossfight too difficult.

Thanks! Was actually going to ask what will happen in NG+ with that area, but thought it would just reset and be NG+ too.
Seems it will not, lol Surprised

It's great design imo because it gives you an interesting choice.

Farm an easy boss, get an item early (or twice, or more), but it comes at a price so you can't use it lightly.

Also NG++ is not much harder than NG+. Biggest jump is from NG to NG+ so having an area in NG++ mode in NG+ is no big deal. It's only slightly harder.

does ng++ change up the mobs again and add new loot or does it just increase the difficulty of ng+?
