Still haven't booted it up for a try, but I gotta say the vids really don't impress me much. Seems everyone is backing off more than previous games and that's not what I was looking for.
I like strategic fights instead of just button mashing but when you back off all the time that is as bad tbh. And it seems theirs even more dead time during fights in this one.

deadseasquirrel wrote: | @hellishere, I can understand all that. My only advice is either toss the game (there's plenty of good ones out now and coming soon, so no worries there) or maybe grab a trainer that gives god mode. Don't use it unless you die fighting a boss and just want to get back to the same spot and get your souls... turn on god mode, cut through the respawned mobs, then turn it off, grab your souls and give that boss what he deserves. The good news is that if it takes you 10+ attempts, most of those mobs will disappear anyway.
I only suggest that option because you seem to like a lot of the other game mechanics. Funny thing is that some folks are complaining BIG TIME about the fact that the mobs STOP respawning after 10 or so spawns (they wanna farm them). Just goes to show that you really can't please everybody. |
Man, i didnt know they stopped respawning, that MIGHT just make me continue, how many times you have to kill them? (its still utterly stupid just to talk about this )
Btw im having a bit of frame skipping looking around, even on 60 fps, can someone post some tweaks please? or im out of luck on that also? and thanks for the tips so far, but im not resorting to trainers, i either do this or just leave it i guess if it frustrates me too much..

Spoiler: | In the "Woods of fallen giants" (or something), just killed the guy in white armor to get that "Electrical" sword, wich's pretty useful...
i don't know my actual level but i surely lvl'd up my health and stamina (green bar) and sometimes strenght and durability (spanish version here btw). Went around the "castle" and killed a turtle like enemy, then the big boss with 2 long legs (gotta say, i didn't knew you could block them but ofcourse you gotta be lucky to run away later) got defeated...yaaaay ¬¬..
Now the problem is that, after i used the "Soldier's key" twice, i have to beat another boss in the same area..."The floating knight with the blue sword insta-kills"... Is there a tactic for him?
|
Other than that, should i focus on farming souls to level up stamina or what should i level up the most?, i'm using the 1st class, aka knight or something..(Again,spanish version)
Thanks in advance |
Spoiler: | When he does the "insta kill" blue sword stab, roll sideways, it's quite easy to dodge. He has a long "reset" period after he doees the blue stab, you should be able to get 2-3 good hits after dodging.
Other than that not much to say. Always dodge to his shield side and make sure you always have space to step backwards. Also make sure you have a shield that block 100% of phisical damage (one can be found in a chest at the Tower of Flame) |
|
It's not instant kill. It does quite good damage, sure. But it's purpose is to curse you, and that curse makes him do even more damage to you.

yep, in the wharf place is a hidden wall in a room with 2 enemies and a lot of vases filled with poision. It's near the end of the level. I think that's where that ring was looted from either a corpse or a chest.

Although I'm definitely seeing the signs of a lazier level design (more straightforward and less inspired, at least) and some not-so-epic encounters, I'm loving the game so far.
I died and I'm dying a lot, much more than I expected (was rusty as hell and playing with the 360 gamepad isn't helping at all), but now I feel like the game is starting to become more balanced..and accessible, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are several difficulty spikes though, especially with them mobs of knights/whatever wants to eat you alive; single encounters on the other hand are very manageable.
Also I finally applied some SGSSAA 4x along with a custom SweetFX and the result was quite impressive. It really made a difference, night and day

Have you guys been able to use Durante Mod with the Reloaded version?
I keep getting an error (written in a txt log file) that says
"Could not read the install location from the registry.
Make sure to extract the downloaded files to a suitable location and run GeDoSaToTool.exe"

Ring of the Soldier, you get it No man's Warf
Third Dragons Ring, you get it by killing Manscorpion
Also you can buy the sinner's mask with the merchant in majula, the one in the house across from the cat, you need to spend 10000 souls with him first.

mind though that in this game the equip load for fast rolling was raised to 70%, so havels ring wouldnt be necessary, the few rings that reduce the load slightly are enough.
right now i m rolling around with an ultra greatsword and greatshield, without using any load-reducing rings.

God, Pursuer boss fight has got to be the most tedious boss fight I have ever played.
I used a bastard sword with two hands that does around 150 base damage+magic damage, dodged and attacked, over and over again, it took forever to cut his HP by half and by the time I did, I was out of Estus flasks and life gems.
I can definitely tell this was designed by a different team, even the most annoying boss fight in DS1 was more enjoyable to me than this.
Maybe I'll go soul grinding in Heide's Tower, there are 6 left there and each yields 400 souls, if I kill them 5 times I should have enough to up dex and use the halberd, that way I won't have to get to close to the fucker.

Haha yeah, it took me so many tries to beat him..with the goddamn mace. (upgraded, but still)
If you're a guy who loves risk, just try to parry his first attack and then when he's all woozy head to the ballista..and bam: 90+% of his health is gone. It requires a perfect timing though

So anyway to get back my half hp? Only by killing bosses or human form right?
Also, where are the saves for the reloaded version? Do you guys back up the saves regularly? and is this game fully playable offline or will i end up getting r4ped even more? ahah

Killed off all the enemies at Heide's, then went down to No Man's Wharf and cleansed the place, met a merchant and sold him all the useless junk I don't need and bought a ring called "Ring of Giants" that raises poise.
Had over 20,000 souls by the end of my run which was more than enough to raise dex.
I googled the ring and folks say that ring in combination with the stone ring you get from the creature at Things Betwixt really helps fend off attacks. Let's see if that's true.
