I've had electrical tape leave a real sticky gluey mess after time. Not sure if it was cheap tape or due to heat. But it can leave a real mess. Black masking tape would be safer.
I don't understand why they didn't include a setting to turn it off. The only time I find it annoying though is when it reflects from the tv screen back at you.

well i always thought the led´s main function was regarding the ps4 camera, after all when i play the playroom, the led light is basically the part you aim with, vaccuum robots or toss them out etc.
also when you login via face recognition, your face and the led light have to be in view, then you are logged in with your account and as player blue or whatever.

so lightbar is for VR thing... OK, i guess. but why can't it be turned off if I don't have VR thing?

it's a little bit better but still not good enough, i can still see reflection every time there is dark scene in the game.

Yeah, that's used in tandem with the PS Eye and games that use motion functionality - pretty much like the Wiimote or PS Move. What Sony are talking about now is the Morpheus VR headset.

Aye, pretty much though I still don't know why Sony doesn't offer an "off" function. Some games use the light as gameplay indicators but that's all optional - not everyone owns the Eye, nor will own the Morpheus, so why it can't be disabled on command I just don't know.
