I have to admit that gameplay looked a bit underwhelming. Makes me fear of Wolfenstein 2009 all over again :\
wel i enjoyed Wolf 2009, it was pretty fine (not as good as RTCW or old ones but fine) - honestly dont know why everyone hates it
Me too, I had a blast with Wolfenstein 2009 and never really understood the hate either, but I do agree it paled in comparison to RTCW
And I thought I was the only one! I'm in good company it seems
As for the new gameplay, I agree. It's very..corridor-based and limited, which isn't exactly what made the Wolfenstein franchise so popular. On the contrary :/
This footage is from the beginning of the game though (I think), so one can hope that levels will open up later on. I remember the devs showing some basic stealth too months ago, as well as larger maps/industrial compounds. Please don't make it Cow a doody-ish
Another Twitch Stream (with moar gameplay..and lots of cutscenes )
At around the 20 minute mark.
A little hatch tells you it opens from the other side. Then when you walk over the stairs, a red floaty icon (that you can see through the steps) tells you where to shoot to unlock it. Ugh. Please let us turn that stuff off. It takes away the fun of exploring and finding things on our own.

I'm watching it as well, and I agree. Disabling markers/invasive hud pointers/shiny icons (if possible) is always the first thing that I do when playing video games, since they completely ruin the experience and the rewarding sense of discovery. It you take those away, you might as well play a light gun shooter.
I don't know if it will be possible to disable 'em here, but it surely would be very useful. Sadly, this is a common issue with first person shooters these days. Custom mods sometimes fix it (like in FC3 for example), but the idTech isn't very moddable..so it's not easy.

I don't really know much of the German language as you noticed, mostly just directly translated the above note about it looking like Bioshock as a (crude) translation of "Big Daddy" and "Little Sister"
That big gray armored thing in the video preview thumbnail does have a certain resemblance.

Oh, didn't know you were talking about Bioshock.
Big Daddy = They've done it properly in the German version and kept the name. Would be "Großer Vater" and that would sound strange/stupid imho.
Little Sister = Would be "kleine Schwester" but they kept the original description here too in the German version. They, luckily, didn't even try to translate them.
Translated German versions always make me cringe... not to talk about censorship in them most of the time.
Some of the German voice actor's in the footage (on topic again!) are pretty good. But there are also some of the bad and cheesy ones. Which is good, even I can laugh about it. I love the unit responses from Company of Heroes for example
Knowing how silly some of the Swedish dubbed films sound (Both in translation and the actual voice acting.) I think I understand what you mean, plus all the incredibly inaccurate name (And title.) translations, mostly for older movies but it can still happen, I think there's still some small censoring too although mostly for cinema releases.
I don't care if this doesn't have super-duper-ultra-detailed graphics or open world or any of that nonsense, I've been playing this series since the early 90s when I had a 80286 pc with 640k of RAM and I've loved every single one in the series.
Yes, it's linear, but that's what it does best. If anything the "semi-open-world" sections of the last one were the weakest parts imho. This series is about killing nazis. Lots of them. With lots of guns and explosives. No chest-high walls to hide behind, no rpg elements, no crammed-in useless open-world mechanics, no magical regenerating health. Just bullets. A lot of them.
So yeah, in conclusion, I can't wait. Don't care if you guys find it too "simple". Once in a while, simple mechanics and over-the-top scenarios are fun.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Until it said location was near Poland, I thought the same thing except "Russian" instead of "Polish" (the phrase would have been exactly the same, even though "don't get up" probably wouldn't be the most appropriate thing to say)
