What is this all about "i know this game aint anything special, but i will like it!!"
Of course its something special, its QUAKE FOUR, just like DOOM THREE.
What the heck, do you people need gay men dancing flamenco in pink leather suits for something to be called special?

I DID need Anti Blaxx to get it to run. I tried SR7-Stop and Virtual CD hide both to no avail. Mounted with the version of alcohol it speaks of I couldn't get it to run without Anti Blaxx.
I think there will need to be an internet disable workaround, because once I got the game to run it requested my CD key again, then when I tried the key in the nfo it said it was bad (but the installer accepted the same key)

Update...
So, I tried disabling my connection via network connections. Tried the key from the nfo once the game launched...Game says something about checking the authorization servers, says the key appears to be valid and lets me in.
As a test I shut down the game, enable my internet connection, start the game. It brought up the invalid cd key error again :/ Boo.
Anyhow I just d/l'd Anti Blaxx and left the settings as default. Just added Quake 4 in the settings menu and then ran it through the menu. Hopefully this key check is a fluke on my part, or there's a workaround to come soon.

well , we'll need to disconect the net while playing or wait for crack .
Perhaps you could use a firewall to block the game from the internet so you can keep you internet connection ON .

Try this to disable the serial-check, and please report back;
Open notepad, and open the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (for Win XP at least), and add this line to the file:
127.0.0.1 idnet.ua-corp.com
I used that for the Doom 3 expansion.
