Is there a way (without using JS) that I can make the left nav fixed at a certain width with the #main div on the right (and the containers within) responsive?

So basically the left side (in blue) should always be 230px (until I create a mobile breakpoint). The purple bits in the #main div should scale down proportionally as you make the browser smaller. At the moment they just float under the menu once you shrink it a little.

I know how to do it with JS but I don't want to :/ I also just started so tonnes of code hasn't been done, but there's enough to see what I'm asking about.

Snippet example of end result:

Thanks

looks standard and should work everywhere.
i would personally just go with flexboxes, but older and maybe some mobile browsers might not be up with them yet.
makes everything so much simpler to implement.

@Inter: You're welcome mate. I have no idea if this is cross browser compatible, it just popped out of my head Smile

Just checked, looks like poop on IE8. Sadly I am quite busy right now (if you see me playing Dark Souls 2 on steam that is... my dog) to look into IE compatibility Cool Face
