gonna start this one since is the only one that i have not replayed since 2003 Laughing

anyone played this recently, what is best mod for graphics out there? for some reason i hate how this game looks while gta 3 for example can play it without problems vanilla, same for sand andreas Surprised
edit i need the mod to work with steam version
edit2 surely there was a thread but cant find it Embarassed

yeah didnt replayed because i dont like that much the period when it takes place; tho i played it alot , remember in the summer 2003 only had this and starcraft on my hdd and i was somehow cut from the world the whole summer so ive played it nonstop for like 4 months Very Happy

I played it several months ago with the High Res mod:

They made it look really nice for a game more than a decade old.

GTA Vice City is the BEST GTA by a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE margin. Great music, great setting, great missions - there's a reason it's always installed.

How was it even remotely the "worst" gameplay? It added a great deal of content and refinements over GTA3, for example, so in essence the gameplay had more depth and better design than any of the previous 3 titles. Ah well... horses for courses and all that.

Yeah, I have to explain, so far I've only played VC, SA and GTA4. GTA3 I tried back in the time when it was released on a PS2 and I liked the few minutes I played, but back then it was something kind of innovating.

Also I meant t's the worst gameplay among GTA games, of course.

Yeah, I got that Very Happy I didn't think you meant it had the worst gameplay of any game, just the GTA series. Still.. I disagree, Vice City was incredible from every aspect but that's just my opinion Wink

I had a discussion about this with Vechter, and in the end we concluded the problem was I was spoiled by playing GTA4 first, with the much more refined mechanics (nothing to do with graphics) and that I would have probably loved VC if I had played it back when it was released.

But then again, I only played San Andreas now and enjoyed it even more than GTA4, and IMO that goes a long way to say how much improved the gameplay was over VC Razz

i happen to love SA more cause it was bigger and i like the whole setting. Vice was great though.

I still gotta play vice stories on PS2, is it any good?
