Pyro builds also "need" 45 dexterity (for fast casting times); then you need ofc a lots of souls to get that flame to ascended+5 and if you're not pvping is really hard to get that amount of souls.
Posting again my favorite pyro build: http://mmdks.com/1yti
Decent in pve and "best" in pvp
If you pvp you can get to lvl 100 and full ascended pyro flame on your first playthrough easy (aka few hours of helping others with bosses, dueling and invading). If not.. no idea how many new games+ you have to start
Edit: there's also a few other things you need to keep in mind for ex
how to get that Helm of Thorns (check wiki-.-) and why (it saves you sometimes from getting backstabed while rolling due to helm damage and backstabbing damage canceling eachother out)
and how to join Darkwraith (check wiki again-.-) to be able to invade people easier
Edit2: and if you want more spell slots just swap points from vitality and put them in attunement
first, 45 gives you maximum casting time, anything over that (46,50 or whatever is useless, as in.. the scenario below doesnt apply over 45)
second, take this scenario: i have 45 dex, you have 40. we both cast black flame or combustion at ~ same time, mine casts first and does damage. you either get staggered by it and dont get to cast yours at all (even if we started casting at the same time) OR you cast it but i have enough time to roll out of it cuz.. game mechanics
but hey.. you saw a video
You missed my point. But anyway.. not like this is such an important thing that we need to keep arguing about it.
More importantly you made me want to install dark souls again but ds2 is close i shall resist
Edit:

And why compare 40dex vs 45 dex?
Because i made a 40dex guy thinking its an ok compromise then ended up deleted him just to make a 45 one instead. Because duels Anywaaaaay

Now I switch to my dex weapon and slay you, because I gain more advantage from B, A, S scaling dex-weapons than you gain from your 1 frame casting advantage of dex using pyro/sorcery.
No you dont, because 45 dex casting time lets me cast and roll out of the way and not get hit at all !
EDIT: Wonder if that's how it will be for DS2 as well, going through the categories it's all texture modifications or SweetFx presets, no real game modifications otherwise.
(And even that is only because DSFix allows texture swapping, otherwise it would probably all be injectors like SweetFx profiles or maybe TexMod packages.)
I think I beat it but I'm confused... Gwyn was the final boss? Surely not... He was one of the easiest in the game. I expected so much more from a final boss in this game.
As for the story; it was fun piecing bits of it together through the course of the game to gather an understanding of what was going on, but to call it 'amazing' or better than any recent stories just because it's vague - what a pretentious load of horse shit. What can be found is hardly well written or *that* interesting, and you're left with a lot of gaps.
Edit: After watching some YT videos since finishing the game, it seems there are more gaps than I had even realised
I can't think of any last gen RPGs with a hard final boss...They are not as common as before.
Well, because he killed me 10 times in a row, I wouldn't say it was easy for me. But to be honest, I just went in like a stubborn mule (also I am very bad at parrying and gwyn seems to be easily beatable if parried). With better gear I guess he would've been much easier
