I'm not sure the ps3 twisted metal sold that well... To Sony the license seems to be dying....
I'd expect them to milk naughty dogs licenses first, and god of war games.

man,,, 360 release was so much better with much better, jaw dropping games.
It's still too early to judge tho but we already had oblivion on 360 at that time

Oblivion came half a year after the 360 release. And that wasn't exclusive.
I'm not sure the 360 even got to 100 games in its first year, did it?
All the usual suspects are already there or on their way. <sportsgame> <year>, CoD, NFS. For the PS4 we've already got a new KZ. 360 didn't even get a new Halo until almost 2 years after its release.
Some of you grossly exaggerate just how many games the PS360 had in their first year. |

Again, Oblivion took half a year to come out. Infamous is the PS4's Oblivion. The fact that you mention GeoW is even funnier, because GeoW came out a FULL YEAR after the 360's release.
Using grainofsaltpedia as a source, the 360 had 86 games in its first 14 months. PS4, as it stands with all the pending release dates in 2014, has 131 listed to be released in its first 13 months. |

How many of those 131 games listed for PS4 are AAA titles? Let me guess... not many, but a lot of those indie games.

Honestly I wasn't amazed by X360 games at all at launch (not even talking about PS3 games which were mostly terrible X360 ports). Maybe cuz I only had a PS2 and had been already running (not at 60fps but still) CoD 2 on my PC ?
I remember being amazed by the fact CoD 2 was looking as good as my PC and running at 60fps on the X360 at launch in 720p, by comparatively I can say the same with some PS4 games too (the 60fps stroke me).
I remember X360 had Quake 4 too, which was already out on PC and not even amazing graphically.
It had that Rare platforming game, that looked like a XBOX 1 game (i dont remember the name). Basically most of its games were just PC ports.
To me, it seems the story repeats itself again with the PS4.... I was then a lot more impressed by the X360 when it had games like GeOW, GTA4, AC1, Tomb Raider Legend (with the "next gen models"), etc....
Now will I be impressed the same by the PS4 in the upcoming months (because I'm not so far) ? Probably not, but that's mostly because I'm hardly impressed these days by games 
I was amazed by the Dreamcast and the PS2 though (PS2 mostly with MGS2 DEMO and GT3 DEMO, so earlier than their retail rlz), more than I was with XBOX360 and PS3.
But as I just said, I think it's also because I grew up.... Which is why these days I'm hardly impressed by anything (I remember being impressed by the first teasers of Uncharted 1 though, but that ended up being one of the best PS3 game so no wonders  )

Oblivion didn't come until 5 months after launch and the launch lineup wasn't mindblowing either. As for jaw-dropping games; the generational jump was *that* much larger from Xb/PS2 to 360/PS3, nowadays there's not much that's truly jaw-dropping, it's all just refinements of the last gen for now.

Kameo is that Rare game I was referring to. It might have been amazing, I was more talking about the graphics : it looked more like a XBOX1 game than a proper X360 game. By proper I mean later games...

Well that's a great thing if they manage to do that, after all, it's not THAT impossible.
For example, Apple managed to emulate PowerPC apps on OS X at first when they did the transition from PPC to Intel back in 2006, using Rosetta.
Obviously, performances were abysmal but I remember that some games were playable, not that they were that intensive though : I have Warcraft III in mind, WoW was kinda laggy, although it was playable.... So everything is possible.

I really have this nostalgia for early 360 as long as it had blades menu.
It was fucking next gen and amazing looking. At least that what it seemed back then. Those games like oblivion, condemned, full auto (graphics), many more like later gears of war and dead rising. Those games were awe to play and look at and even then pc versions have been better looking but in general, gfx improvement slowed down after like 2006, to the point that games like Mass Effect or gears of war still look great desptie being like 7 years old.
Just compare 2004 to 1997. Thats duke nukem 3d vs doom3, far cry and half-life 
again. I am excited for this gen to bring great games too and I i will surely be amazed. We just have to wait and the interesting thing is that, probably we willl play most of this gen games on pc. Infamous indeed does look promising as a look at what might come
edit: Now I have the urge to play and finally finish eraly 360 games like kameo or Saints Row1 and maybe replay some older games too :d
I really would want to replay gow trilogy but since only first (and my fav) gow is on pc but sequels on 360 I am torn... The wise thing would be to play all on 360 for nostalgia and graphical continuity.. other wise it would be jarring to plat 2 and 3 after playing 1 on pc with 4xSSAA, 60fps, 1080p and so on
