i don't get it, what's it with you guys. the goal is the same: vr googles for 3d.
what are you afraid of ? what the hell ?
they have unlimited money now, the team stays the same, the only "downside" is that fb will probably add support for it's apps... so what ?

What the ACTUAL fuck?
So this is how they repay their legion of loyal supporters.... by selling out?
The world has just become a darker place.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see the Oculus PR response, if there even is one, and see how it goes from here. The whole "operating independently from Facebook" smells like baloney though, nobody spends two BILLION dollars on an acquisition without wanting to gain from it somehow - and I'm not just talking about profits from sales.

At least it shows that the Oculus executives who were pretty much seen as gods by the VR community are just moneyhungry cunts. Great respect to the original Kickstarters who made DK1 happen by then selling out to the devil for a measly $2 bil usd.

Weirdest move ever, but giving them the good old 180° hump instahate treatment is just ridiculous.
More money, more awareness, more support. Dont see nothing wrong with that. You dont have to play the inevitable Farmville VR, you know.

| Quote: | BREAKING NEWS: Star Citizen, the game in production by Chris Roberts, has just been acquired by Facebook for $120mil. Speaking to a press conference, Mark Zukerberg revealed his plans for the upcoming space game.
"It's going to be huge!", he said. "The game, coupled with Occulus Rift and Facebook interactive technology will transform the game from mere space combat to a fully fledged intergalactic social event!"
Plans include 'Spacebook', a VR-enhanced version of social networking, and space billboards available to advertisers for real money.
Chris Roberts was not available to comment. |
