I can again flip that around. While there certainly are plenty of PC gamers who will disregard something if it doesn't look amazing, there's an equal amount of console gamers who will go to extreme lengths to defend technical limitations and failures simply because they're unwilling to admit that the other guy *might* have a point.
Perfect example of a game is TLoU. If you go back and read what I said about that game in that thread, I very clearly stated that I think the game is drop dead gorgeous. Yet, at the same time, I thought (and still do) that it's a crying shame that it's been held back by such ancient hardware in many ways. From simply the resolution, to the slightly unstable framerate or the necessity for insane motion blur. I absolutely loved the game to death and I even enjoyed the terribly short DLC, but if I had been given the chance I would've played it on superior hardware (PS4 or PC).
Lo and behold, the response I got was people lunging at me with all kinds of insults and retarded remarks about me being "elitist", despite me expressing how much I loved it. Fact still is that Naughty Dog were visibly held back by the ancient hardware they had to work on and that's just a waste of their talent (I'm itching to see what's coming from them). I very rarely express my opinions in the console section, because I know I will have certain people going apeshit and fail to read what I post. At least in the PC section I can just do that and while there's certainly going to be people disagreeing, there's only a handful of people who will outright attack me for it. They can go fuck themselves.
That first group you mention very rarely expresses their opinion as politely as you put it there. They are also the only group to not just attack someone for their opinion, but outright reject it as a lie without further argumentation.
As much as some people attack KC for what he says, KC is every bit as much of an asshole as anyone going at him, because KC always assumes that what's good for him is good for others. His ridiculously stupid ranting about FoV is hilarious; he doesn't get motion sick from low FoV, therefor an FoV of 65 is perfect. Never mind the fact that lots of people do get motion sick, clearly that's them being elitist, right. Sorry KC, I'm deliberately taking that as an example to illustrate how ridiculous your arguments are sometimes. Want people to stop being dicks towards you? Stop being a dick towards them. You try to play the victim all too often and while I don't think that's the case here, you still resorted to going at someone directly very quickly.

No Werelds. It might only sounds like I don't care but I do understand other people opinions. Maybe I've explained it wrongly once or twice.. or more. But Options like FOV You mentioned should always be adjustable(same with blur etc). I might not care and I like rather vanilla games but that is only my opinion and I know that other people do care and I wish everyone was happy and had their options of choose.
If I was a dick to someone who seemed to be forcing my opinion on others, I am sorry. It was not intended...
I am just noticing that pc gamers are very often unhappy even with better graphics, more options and so on, while console gamers are easier to please, don't care as much about graphics and just play the games. I am extremely happy as pc gamer since I got my new pc in december 2012. It still runs everything at max. games look amazing, run smooth. With radeonpro I can force tb and 59fps limit. I can use sweetfx and do everything I want (unless there is a shitty port). Every time I have to go back to 360 is a pain in the ass because how terribly low res and jaggy everything looks but You know what they say ? "Ignorance is bliss"... I jsut enable that mode which is also called "fun mode" and have fun playing the damn games. Sometimes You just have to let go and enjoy Yourself. Don't let poor console weather Your experience. I will buy the game on pc next month and finish it again in elite mode. Imagine how huge improvement it will be to me after finishing inferior version!
again. Sorry if I offended someone or forced my opinion. I just want more people to stop bitching about everything and enjoy their damn lives more... We get fantastic games on pc recently and next month we will get fantstic Dark Souls2. Don't spoil the mood internet.
From did wrong. They should have some consequences because it might be fals advertising. True. Not every developer is doing this. let's say Wolfenstein. I can see that trailers are real and the game will look like that. There are even jaggies in the videos and screenshots. no bullshots there. So it can be done(not to advertise wrongly)
there is so much on pc to enjoy and adjust and have fun with. if people don't like something, or bad advertising, or think that graphics are too weak for their taste. Easy. Pirate it, don't buy it.
edit: There is a reason, why some of my fav games (aka Darkness1) are on consoles and its not a technical reason. I just try to play where good games are (tho darkness1 example is bad because that game looked fantastic when it came out) and I feel kinda pity that some people can;t get over framerate or technical aspects and are missing out on some amazing experiences. Ofc none of that problems should be on pc. DOn't get me wrong. Pc games have their standards and nobody on pc should be forced to play with controller or 30fps. pc is chooice, console is "ignorance is bliss"
Man, I can play Half-life 2 or watch movies in virtual cinema in my oculus rift devkit!!! How is that not incredible !!! PC

Well you do express yourself in dumb ways then, because you often come across as "you're whining, fuck you" 
And I don't think console gamers are easier to please at all, generally speaking. On both "sides" of that fence you've got people who will salivate over a simplistic game such as Titanfall. But because there's more console gamers than there are PC gamers there's just more among them that will suck just anything up because the current generation of consoles is their first or second gaming platform (yep, taking that one broad on purpose). I don't think either of us wants to know how many retards there are among that group of gamers who will say KB+M sucks while they have never even tried to play a game with it; or did for 2 minutes and gave up because they couldn't be bothered. Ignorance is bliss? No, not in that case 
I don't think that statistically speaking, there's any more or less retards+elitists among any group of gamers on any platform. It's just that there's more console gamers in total and thus more retards+elitists too.

Even if the 1st group is often more aggresive than in my example (although I did say "elitist assholes"), they are still, in my experience, the ones who are responding to the hate (with some hate of their own), not the ones starting it. IMO the party who starts the fight, should be to blame, always. And some regular posters in this section will not miss any opportunity to hate on the console gamers and pub/dev companies.
If you see it in a different way, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

If it's something simple then possibly, if it requires new shaders and changing the levels or other game data then there's not much that can be done without official tools, a utility like say DSFix2 might be able to inject shaders like SSAO and allow texture dumping/replacing plus setting the screen resolution to any supported value but it still has limits.
(Could also go like ENB I suppose come to think of it and replace or overlay the existing lighting with a different one to simulate more advanced shaders although it has it's downsides such as a far heavier performance hit.)
