what this proofs however, is that EA once again made themselves look like evil fools. Saying that the game couldn't possibly be played offline.
And yeah, there was a lot of talk and stuff about it long ago which basically showed how that statement from EA was crap, but it was just that, talk.
Now here is a cracked version that everyone can play ALONE and OFFLINE just fine and it proofs, just how full of shit EA is.
Sim City won them the worst company award last year and it looks like the game is coming back and get them the title again lol.

Why bigger cities?
So you can build things in your city like...subways, highways, multiple burbs, different kinds of areas. By all accounts most people were filling up a single map in a couple hours and then.... that was that. Move on to the next one.

Because these aren't cities but villages. If I want to build a city I want to design every bit of it. For that to do I need at least a city that is 10x the size of what it is currently.

Btw. why no pumpstation for men? |
Pumpstation are unlocked by building the community services in the Town hall.
Regarding map size, you will soon see the problem, when you will want to build an airport or an amusement Park which take 30%-40% of the area.
In the end, I found building my cities on these "large" empty scare maps to be boring as hell though.
Knowing we can't build big cities, I tried one of these map with even less constructible space (with lake, mountain, ..) and I found them much more interesting and challenging to play.
Give the nuked desert map a go, and try to build an autonomous city on this map ^^

Damn this is so simplified and small scale Basically, the region thing is one city in SC2000, SC3000, SC4.
Are there mods yet that give you the ability to build on the entire region as if it is one city?

I just played through the mini "tutorial" for babies with the cartoony balloons and was searching for something like this too. Though after reading this , I fear that we won't see any of these important modifications, ever
Something (not much, mostly minor tweaks/additions) can be found here http://community.simtropolis.com/files/category/19-mods/?dosort=1&sort_key=file_rating&sort_order=desc

I see it now. The cities are fucking small. On the other hand you cant just place every fucking building everyfuckingwhere you want to. You have to analyze and realistically wager you possibilities. Like a man.
Still too small true.

Sim Neighboorhood is what the game should be called. Now that I've played the game, we should be applauding the devs for keeping the game online only for so long. They've unselfishly kept the game from a lot players just so they wouldn't have to suffer through it.
Do the devs have a square fetish or something? The city borders are so goddamn artificial I really don't understand why they're there at all.
I'm only a few hours into the game and it fails at first impressions. And that's without the whole online crap those of you that bought the game had to deal with.
The game is actively fighting my desire to create a city that looks like Boners boner. Simply impossible to include the balls in the city limits.
