it's 2hand, so right now it sucks no matter what.

edit : anyway, it's not really hard to see the problem.

the white 2 handed sword has 373 DPS while the legendary has 269 DPS.

They should have the exact same DPS.

Edit : just checked on game guide on battle.net and :

the white sword is a colossus sword (level 60)

the legendary sword is a Yatagan (level 57)

i'm now fact checking every legendary that i find and so far every single level 60 legendary had base stats of a level 59 or below (whatever item there is below 60).

And this goes for 1hand , 2hand and armor all the same lol.

Yup.. It's why replacing weapons is the biggest chore if you already had a nice one. Used to be that items dropped up to itemlevel 63, and legendaries would use that base if available. The same is technically true for onehanders, but the difference is smaller there, so not as noticable. When the expansion hits and you can find lvl 63 weapons again, legendaries will be as good as they were Laughing. Luckily, there's a bit more to them than just damage now, that orange text can be interesting.. but it's still difficult.
On the subject of replacing weapons, good lord that crafted Hallowed set is awesome. Insta replaced everything my barb and monk had, but out of white mats now Very Happy . Still struggling to replace my 2-socket manticore/DML though..

You could start now, gain some items and paragon levels (Those are now shared amongst all characters.) to have a bit of a advantage and then start a new Crusader character when the expansion unlocks, will also give you some insight into the various difficulty levels and how the various Torment difficulties feel or how to say. Very Happy
(Since it seems you need at least Torment 1 to guarantee that all items are available such as imperial quality gems and some new powerful items.)

EDIT: What is the max paragon level now anyhow? from what I've read you max out all the stats at paragon 800 (50/50 in everything.) and then you just gain points for Vitality and Primary Attribute (Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence.) but is there a overall cap, 1000 perhaps?
(Can you even reach those without endless grinding at Torment VI anyhow, 400 or so is probably possible but even that requires a lot of grinding I guess.)

I really like the new adventure mode, marvel heroes that Ive been playing a few weeks now has something similiar in that you dont have to run through the story in a liniar fashion but can instead do specific legendary missions with certain objectives. Makes leveling characters a much more enjoyable experience...

i don't think you gain any stats for paragon levels anymore (other then the ones you can select). At least i don't think so.

I mean your main stats + vitality are already a stat you can increase.

I probably explained it poorly, I meant those when I wrote that but it was pretty unclear. Smile

You have these four tabs for paragon levels and all of them but two have a cap of fifty points however those last two (Well, first two) are Vitality and the characters primary stat which is either Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence, which I guess every Diablo 3 player whom have reached level 60 already know but yeah my explanation or way of writing wasn't that good.

EDIT: But as I understood it Paragon is shared between every character on your account so if a player was to gain a couple of levels now then the Crusader class for the expansion will have a bigger pool of points to spend thus making the early leveling part much easier. (Even for higher difficulties to maximize the XP gain rate or how to say.)

lol, i never even noticed that main stat and vitality are uncapped in paragon tab Smile Thanks for telling me that rofl. So, in theory, you can become a "god" in this game. i mean once you reach paragon 5000, you can probably 1 hit everything in p6 lol.

Yep that's how I thought it would be and why I asked if there actually was a overall cap now since from what I've read you need Paragon 800 to max out everything (Thus why 1000 seemed like a good value for a absolute cap, but it turns out there isn't one.) and then you can spend +5 to VIT or Primary Attribute for each additional level forever which would make you quite powerful eventually but I guess once you reach a couple of hundred paragon levels / points you'll need hundreds of millions of XP to level further.
(EDIT: And it's twenty paragon levels for every hundred points in a attribute.)

Guess it also depends on Blizzards future plans for the game, a second expansion pack for example or if they focus on something else entirely.
(There's room for four expansions if they're intending for players to eventually reach level 99 if each expansion adds about ten additional player levels.)

There is a cap and you can only put 50 points into each bonus. That's why it's 800 paragon levels to cap everything.

And on the other hand they will buff the Resplendent chest.

Quote:
Good news about Resplendent chest! We're going to buff the treasure that they yield, so that they feel more resplendent. There's been a lot of feedback about this, and it's definitely something we've noticed while playing, too. I don't have a time frame to share on when we can expect this change to happen, though, but it's something we plan to address.

Hah nice, those chests usually drop one rare and a couple of magical items or a few magical items and some gold so while they're nice they aren't that different from normal chests other than the larger gold drop or chance for gems.

Speaking of gems is the square flawless variant the highest one currently dropping? Wonder if that makes the imperial quality very rare since it's stated to be able to drop from any mob at level 61 or higher and that's several quality levels above what's currently dropping (Well it's the new highest gem quality period.) although of course as you level those higher quality gems will probably drop more frequently.
(Marquise for example or radiant quality before that, would be nice not to have to spend hundreds of thousands of gold on combining everything to reach those levels.)

If you don't purchase RoS and stay at level 60, you will only ever see flawless square gems drop. In RoS as you level to 61 and up, the base gems that drop are marquise, and on master or above you have a chance for imperial gems to drop as well.
