White Paper Games released the first game play trailer for Ether One, the first part in a two game mini-series named Ether. The game play trailer takes the viewer on a journey through a small portion of Ether One showcasing story elements, puzzles and interactive actions displaying the core game play elements of a science fiction first person adventure game.
The visual art style looks pretty nice and clean ..dont know much on the game, actually the first time hearing aboug it and i am on NeoGaf all the time.

Some interesting releases lately. Betrayer is superb, will also check this today.
Steam seems to be up and down today in UK. Now it's not accessible at all.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
Not that, it just... the character movement is weird. I'm trying to understand if it is supposed to be like that or just my local issue.
Movement is ok here (I'm playing with the X360 controller though).
Nearly 2 hours in the game, plenty of exploration, some rather easy puzzles so far. I think I'm going to finish this one as the story is pretty interesting.
It is really wonky here, like you are moving through water.
M+KB or controller? Try lowering head bob value maybe?
I have it too sadly, it's partially related to v-sync in my case (had to disable it), but the problem still persists. Still playable though, since the pace is low and there aren't any actioney parts
As for the game itself, I agree with you, it's definitely not bad. I like the fact that you can either do ribbon hunting and finish the game "walking sim" easy mode, or you can actually solve all the dozens of optional puzzles to know more about the (quite intricate, but enigmatic) story. I don't even mind the fact that you can't carry more than one item at a time, since leaping between the worlds is handy.
The graphics are fine, too, simplistic but pleasant (in case someone is curious)
Why Kein? A 'game' that is nothing but walking around with the bare minimum story wise is not something that I would buy or be interested in. Walking around with a proper story, fine. But if it doesn't have any story or content to support the walking, blegh.
1. Then don't buy it
2. Stop whining. It is not a triple AAA title. Go back to Watch Goats thread for that.

Simple as that,
The fuck are you on man?! I just asked how it is so I know if I should keep an eye on it or not. I for one have no interest in buying it anyway, not now in any case. I didn't mention buying it or even trying it, nor did Areius. I was just curious. And if you like those "games", good for you, I don't give a flying fuck. I despise them and I will keep despising them until the end of days.
That's strange. Is this the full game or something else?
~edit~
The controls feel okay here, but the walking speed is TERRIBLY slow. I pretty much have to hold shift (sprint, chortle...) just to speed up a bit. I don't know whether I'd class it as walking through water but it's definitely slow.

Damn, this escalated quickly
About your initial question, it's basically a game that you can play however you want, since most of the puzzles are optional. After the first level, the main "story" can be completed by simply walking around, in order to find all the red ribbons. Though, if you want to play the game as an adventure a-la Myst, you can try to solve all the puzzles and unlock all the projectors as well. It's like two games in one^^

First, that answer wasn't even for you. You were so upset that failed to read?
Second:

Oh no!
I'm pretty sure the developer(s), who made this game because he primarily wanted to make it, as it goes with any indies, and not because he wanted dosh from the cattle - will be truly, truly heartbroken.
And right now he is siting in the corner and crying giant tears of sad, because some bright member of CoD generation decided to do not play his game!
You make no sense... ugh... whatever... and yes, I'm the biggest COD 360NOSCOPE champion of all time, truly! You caught me, unbelievable!
@ixi That doesn't really make it any less confusing about what this game is. Is there actually enough game in there or it's yet another pretentious waste of resources that's not even a game?! Is it like Dear Esther and all the other shit like that?
