but do the features really add anything useful/practical? i saw a messaging feature now, but whats the point... random spam and advertising? 
i guess i just need the site to do four things, and im happy. provide forum for giveaway puzzles, provide function to create gifts and see who won them, allow me to enter gifts and see if i've won them, and have the site stay online long enough and consistently enough to let me do the first 3 things  .... anything else is just a gimmick, really, and i dont see the point of adding 'fluff' if the core of the site still has issues...
but i'll get used to it, i guess - i dont care, really.. i just think its unnecessary

only thing that would impress me about sg v2 would be if sg1 and 2 were seperated, and everyone who had contributed anything over 30 bucks gets auto entry to the new site, and then sg2 goes back to becoming invite only \o/ everyone else can enjoy sg1 by themselves. thousands of people sitting around waiting for a giveaway to start

Not much, but it's something . I personally loved the hell outta this game. Played through the whole campaign with a friend of mine. We both really enjoyed it.
