Soooo.. I may have thrown my shaver at a wall and I am now in need of a new one! Given my pathetic excuse for facial hair I'm loathed to spend much on it and want to keep the budget at *around* £50. Previously I had one of these:

I used to find that after a few days growth it would pull rather than cut making its use uncomfortable. To get around this I would use the push out beard shaver thing to thin it out before trying again with the rotary.

To counteract this I'm after a wet/dry shaver so I can use it in the shower with foam. I'm hoping this will help with the pulling/tugging. Honestly though, I've only ever used this shaver really, so advice is needed. I have these in mind:

http://www.boots.com/en/Braun-Series-3-340s-Wet-and-Dry-Electric-Shaver_1228244/
or
http://www.boots.com/en/Philips-AquaTouch-AT890-20-Wet-Dry-electric-shaver-with-pop-up-trimmer_1234839/

As you can see.. SALE! Any thoughts? The reviews I've seen suggest both have some pulling during dry shaves.. I'm not that concerned as I plan on using it wet.. but I don't know how big an effect that will have. HELP!

If you want an actual shave you need a razor, thats my two cents. If you want to stubble it down, then any hair trimmer with open "blades" whatever will do Smile

8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

Think of this as an addition to a real wet shave, its for the mornings (of which I have many) where I want to jump in the shower, shave, wash and get dressed quick for work. For instance I'm on a business trip for the next few weeks and I'll be dead most mornings, last thing I want to do is try to wet shave with a razor while hungover at 6am and filled with jet lag Wink!

Electric shavers get no vote for me either. I hate the feel, the shave it gives and i never feel clean after using one.

Wet razor is the only way to get a good clean shave. No way i'm getting an electric one near my balls!! Very Happy

Electric shavers irritate my skin, so I can't use them. Sad

You could wet shave the night before. That's what I sometimes do.

Me too :\ It's ok on my mustache area and just the chin, where I have more hair, but neck is a big no no if I use electric shaver. It turns red and just wtf looking :S

But I plan on investing in a trimmer, so that I can just trim the hair, and then maybe something will grow :\

Go for braun or panasonic (I have the latter). They do irritate the skin (mostly the neck) on the first couple weeks, but then you get kinda used to it (don't really know why or how to explain). I read that razors are actually more aggressive to the skin and it seems about right.

yes, straight razors are sooo good especially if you've been growing a beard for a month + yes mmhmm...

if you want a clean shaven face, yes razors. Nothing better. IF you want a little stubble and not look like a baby face... then no razors are not THAT good.

Surprised Didn't know about the existence of this, and it's only 18€ here. Dayum tempting!
I have the same problem, it's either beardy manly man in his 30s or 17 yo babyface, with no compromises. This could fix everything xD
