Tomb Rider and Mirror's Edge had a decent story but nothing spectacular. In all honesty, she lives on her father's legacy and name.

Outside of writing for games, I honestly believe that might be the truth.
But when writing for games she really doesn't do a better job than anyone else out there.

IMOOOO and I haven't even played this, which seems to be the worst of the three games she wrote.

I dunno, Beyond Divinity was pretty bad too, although she was editor and co-writer IIRC.

I gotta love the expertise and extensive inside info of gamers nowadays.

Arguments full of "probably", "maybe", "perhaps", "I", "I", and..did I mention.."I" ?

Constructive shite.

On the topic: 12 hours in the game, still a long way to go..and I LOVE it. The atmosphere is A M A Z I N G ( sweetfx enhanced Wink ), I've started to like the new voice of Garret, I love the Master difficulty and the customization ( all help off etc ) and all the nice touches such as broken glass Razz. I've lost count of how many times I had to reload coz I fell for traps / made mistakes. ( I have slower movement, too ).

Some side quests are really nice too + I really liked the Bank Heist ^^

She's written a lot more than those 3 semi-bad game stories. Honestly, I think Tomb Raider was the best of the lot.

Her list of shitty stories in games also includes Risen, Heavenly Sword, and Beyond Divinity (I mean I LOVED Divine Divinity, but I hated that game). Amongst others.

She's just terrible at game writing, and her female characters are absolutely abysmal.

The fact that Tomb Raider's plot was her best creation says a lot about the rest. Laughing Razz

Though she really surpassed herself with this one. Every time there's a cutscene or a story-related thing-to-do I always start to cringe inside, because it feels like one of those cheap cable C movies from the 80s. Disjointed writing, nonsensical lines, random characters with no depth whatsoever..it's a disgrace narrative-wise. Unsurprisingly, the most enjoyable sections are the ones that do not involve the main storyline.

Well, she's definitely not alone in the "OMGZ X writer will pen the story for this game!1... wait, that was it?!" syndrome.

Best example I can remember is the one that 4treyu gave, crysis 2 Laughing

why is the map broken in 10 pieces anyway ? very small areas with lots of loading times. it dosent makes sense. this is the most anoying thing . first los2 with their decantamination chambers/ power up electricity and now this.

for example i need to go from the clock tower to the black market for a job client mission, so the area is like the next big part of the main city so for me to go there i have to get through 5-6 loading screens .there should be like 1 loading screen when going to the next big area. other than that, its a great game.

Another herp-derp post. Where does he mention anything about graphics?!

Can't a man enjoy his fucking game without some el1tePCgam3r bashing it for the sake of bashing?

Really, I understand most of the time the rants on this forum, that's why I am here, actually. I often share the same feelings and opinions. But sometimes it just goes too far. Rolling Eyes

This didn't annoy me much until I started doing the Basso sidemissions.. Going from one boring mission to another via bunch of window QTE's.

From what I've read it's the same on the console version (The X360 and PS3 ones.) so I guess the game levels were designed from that instead of using fewer zones in the PS4, XBoxOne and PC versions.
(Maybe it makes things easier during Q&A testing or since development began a few years back it was primarily designed for the then current-gen systems and upgraded slightly for the newer systems and PC.)

I care about the franchise since i loved the first 2 games (third a bit less but still) and instead of a true sequel we got this shit.

if you don't see the irony in this then I don't know Laughing

No one is defending the game. I simply enjoy all 4 thief games, and favor them in order of release.

You voted with your wallet, and didn't buy the game. Thats really the best you can do.

The market is such, that the derppad is the targeted platform in the past years for the most part.

Until people stop paying for games in such a state on the pc, its gonna keep on happening.
