Splinter the game runs fine, and you dont even have to use antiblaxx crap, which does infact screw up daemon tools, lord knows I know it does.
You can run the game mounted with daemon tools, all you need to do is use, Virtual CD hide, and make sure the compatibility of the game is on Windows 2000 mode, not XP.
You do that the game will run. Thats how im playing. This by far is one of the best games of the year. Its just amazing.

Thats what make me laugh about you guys...DOOM is DOOM, what do you expect??? Doom1, Doom2, Final Doom was exactly like that and everybody loved those games...DOOM 3 is the same fuckin game since 1993 exept with better graphics, no midi sound  and darker atmosphere...you dont know shit about shit on video games |
Thanks! Finally someone to notice that too. I totally 100% agree with you Kommando. ID Software didn't even claim to have invented a new game. It's Doom and that's all. For a Doom game it is quite good IMHO.
Perhaps all of the computer kiddies should start playing all those oldies again to know what they are talking about, sorry... |

Doom 3 never tried to be anything other than Doom 3.
Play Doom 1 and 2, then play Doom 3, is it an improvement in graphics physics sound story and action? Yes it is. Then what is everyone whining about? Doom 3 is the best Doom game to date, and thats all it ever tried to be, and thats all it ever needed to be.

This game really kicks ass. The gunfights are intense and the ai is really good IMO. They actually split up and come at you from both sides. I have to run it with almost everything on medium but I can live with that until I get a new pc. My only complaint is that there's not enough variety in the levels. HL2 put you through lots of different environments, but this is still satisfying.

worked for me using DT to mount image and using SR7.stop 1.0 to block protection

WTF.... the game start but i get a black creen i can hear the ingame menu sounds but screen is black...
i have an ATI 9800 XT 256mb with DX9c and CAT 5.10 i tried with 5.9 and same thing....

Well the CD-Hide and Dameon works NP, but like 1-2 min in game I get lag and the game crashes back to DT. Running on P4 3Ghz, 2 Gram, NV 6800U, Raptors in Raid.

Ok like I said the game runs fine up to maybe 2 min and then starts to lag...then kick to DT.
Only thing it says is "Out of Memory" never had this one before and belive me I play ALL! games, so sure this is a bit freaky could be a Ram prob but ran some checks and its not. Its like the game has a mem leak or something, anybody ecounterd this?
P4 3Ghz, 2 Gram, NV 6800U, Raptors in Raid.

Yep, this is true. If u gave a look on the Vivendi Universal games forum here :

u'll see that some users have reported serious problem with FEAR (memory leaks, freeze at random places...). Personnaly, i'm encountering random freezes during the game and no explanations (my cpu athlon 3800+ and gpu 7800 gtx are not overclocked and it still freezes)
What pisses me off is that they haven't corrected these problems since the first report we did on the SP demo : they are still in the retail version. Let's just hope that they'll release a patch as soon as the game will be officilay released (let's say October 18th)

i have read the readme file and apparently there is issue like i have when you have the ACE mega codec pack installed... so i went ahead and uninstalled the pack... still fucking black screen.... I would like to know if anyone got the game working with CAT 5.9 or 5.10

Here is a Tut how to play F.E.A.R. from DVD...
what you need:
- a DVD-RW
- Alcohol 120%
- the image...
put the DVD-RW into your burner and burn the image with RMPS. After That switch RMPS emulation in alcohol 120% on. Now you can play Fear without the image on your PC!!

Now this is just a stupid theory, but is it possible that setting the .EXE to W2000 is causing the memory leak prob? just a thought...

well i got it 2 work Deamon + SR7.stop 1.0. and i must say the game itselfe is good, beautiful. but for some reason it just aint what i hoped for. well thats what i think

Load the game into Daemon (all options on)
Run Virtual-cd-hide (hide virtual drives)
Exit Virtual-cd-hide
Exit Daemon Tools
Tick windows 2000 compatiility mode on exe in game folder
Run the exe e.g from Desktop

The problem of this release is the NFO. there is no instruction.
Anti-Blaxx is a crap soft. It screwed my Daemon Tool. I had to make a system restore.
So it's easy:
-Mount the game in Daemon Tool
-Install it
-Use Virtualhide CD and hide the Virtual drive (it's easy, even idiot can't understand this one)
- Make the FEAR.exe Windows 2000 compatible (this one took me few minutes to find it, since I didn't read forums)
-Play

How about you just turn on RMPS in a120, burn, install, and play? You don't need any doggy software to do that.

4) click fear icon on the desktop the game is launch!

it should be noted that this game runs like hell if you have windowblinds running.
unload windowblinds before starting the game.

If using XP, make sure it's got SP2, otherwise you may get a 0xc0000005 crash-error on RD2.exe.
Daemon Tools 3.47 & SR7.Stop is all I need to run it.. I tried antiblaxx first but that is one crappy program.
