I had my fill with oculus. I've cleaned it up and packed back in box. Not using it too much anymore.
Think of selling it... or maybe leave it as collectors item ?
not sure how easy it would be to sell it in Poland. no idea how to use allegro.pl or tablica.pl... I mean its breaking my heart if I would decide to sell it, even if I barely used it recently.
oh and btw. Played some minecraft. its cool man
You better wait a little bit.
They are running out of some parts to build more Devkit.
So watch for price rising up on ebay
I am preparing the package here as well

it's really easy these days;) my 16 yo brother does it. Everything is automated, along with payment.
But they get a small provision on Allegro.pl so you might try gumtree or tablica first.
Allegro is more safe though.
Maybe you should sell it and leave the money for the final version ?
i can't wait to get my hands on it and beat half life 2 once again

it's garbage
they clearly just slapped it on and didn't put any effort to it yet
i doubt they'll let the final be this bad though
palmer himself will come and bitchslap the developers if they can't get their act together
bad implementations on high profile games only hurt oculus

Real news is :

End of Rift Development Kit Sales
We’re quickly running out of stock for the Rift development kit, so we’ve shut down sales in most regions. A handful of the hardware components are no longer being manufactured, and as a result, we’re ramping down production and distribution of the original kits.
We never expected to sell so many Rift development kits and the fact that we’re close to being sold out after 60,000 kits is nothing short of incredible — Thank you for your support!
We’ll have more news on this soon, so stay tuned!
Now, watch DK1 prices raise on Ebay

Finally bothered to do this and I liked it! This doesn't make it more blurry IMO, it just smooths out the SDE.
It dulls the colors and brightness a bit, but when I compensated with saturation, contrast and brightness it became much better than before.
Also opening and tampering with the oculus was easy and painless, just be sure to have screen cleaning tools and sit in your most "dust-free" room, the 3m privacy filter I used got particles stuck on it like a goddamn bug zapper.
I tried the Crystal Cove prototype last weekend at the Oculus Loft during SXSW. I posted about it on the Oculus subreddit, but figured some of you guys might be interested as well. This is just copied and pasted directly from the post.
I haven't felt this excited since Christmas when I was a wee lad. Sorry the pictures aren't that great. Yes, I was that creepy guy snapping pics through the window outside. No shame.
So Crystal Cove. They had it running Eve Valkyrie which was another first for me. The low persistence is amazing. Definitely a night and day difference. I didn't notice motion blur whatsoever. And I was trying. Now when they first put it on I was getting some crazy "skipping" or "stuttering" just rotating my head. It was very weird, but I mentioned it and they reset the calibration, put it back on and all was gravy. Well, not completely perfect. I was still occasionally seeing the stutter. I'm not exactly sure what was causing it. Keep in mind there were about 20 people behind me moving about. I'm not sure if that was affecting the camera or what. But anyways, it wasn't that bad. When it wasn't stuttering it was pretty easy to feel the lower latency of the Crystal Cove. It was just so extremely smooth. The positional tracking felt great. A definite upgrade from strapping a Hydra onto my neck, that's for sure. Ha.
Now the resolution. It was a bit of an upgrade from my DK1, but if I'm completely honest, it wasn't by much. The screen door effect was still very easily visible. And, keep in mind, Eve Valkyrie is a pretty dark game. It convinced me that we'll definitely be needing 1440p as soon as we can get it.
Overall, the experience felt wonderful. I was constantly doing flips and quickly tilting my head back and in all directions and I got no simulator sickness whatsoever. I definitely can't say the same for my DK1. I think Crystal Cove is definitely worth the hype. I'll be dropping $300 on Day 1 (or however much they'll charge).
I got to meet Nate and Palmer (I say meet, but it was more like interrupting them as they were leaving like "Hey! Nate! Palmer! Picture pleeease?!"). I said to Palmer "Crystal Cove....is the SHIT." and he replied with something along the lines of "Just wait. We've got even better prototypes in the office.". If you're in Austin right now, definitely drop by! It's totally public. They've got two Crystal Coves and a few HD prototypes. The line was looong, but definitely worth it.
Edit: Oh yeah. I guess I should've also mentioned that Eve Valkyrie itself was great! I couldn't exactly tell which enemy was my friend and which were bots because there are about 6-8 of them, but the locking on with my head felt completely natural. I can imagine it being immensely fun with a big group of friends or even online multiplayer. They did an amazing job and I'm sure it's only going to improve from here on out.
DK2 officially announced and preorders are now available. They've put the price up to $350 which doesn't bode well for the consumer product which will no doubt be even higher because "reasons" - I guess the consumer one will go up another $50. Oh well, just another toy for the rich.
Oculus says the new Rift headsets will be available on the Oculus website for preorder starting right about now, March 19, at 8AM Pacific. The headsets are estimated to ship in July of 2014. They'll be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The new DevKit still isn't the commercial version, and won't really be intended for the public. It's intended more for developers to start to learn how to make games work on a Rift. Of course, that doesn't mean that non-developers can't buy one...
Each headset will cost $350, $50 more than the first DevKit cost. The extra $50 apparently covers the included camera that tracks your head movement.
The DevKit 2 will run at 960x1080 resolution per eye, totaling out to 1920x1080, or 1080p between both eyes. It'll use a low-persistence OLED display with 6DOF positional tracking.
Its refresh rates will be 75Hz, 72Hz, and 60Hz
It'll use a gyroscope, an accelerometer and a magnetometer for inertial tracking, and those sensors will update at 1000Hz.
It'll weigh 440g without its cable.
The headset is still called the Rift, and it will always be called the Rift. "Crystal Cove" was just a code-name for the DevKit 2, but isn't the name of the actual headset.
Just like the Crystal Cove prototype, DevKit 2 will be able to track your head's movements via the included camera (which you mount on a fixed point in the room), so you can lean in closer to objects in the game-world to make your view grow closer. It goes a long way toward making the experience more immersive.
The new headset looks a touch different than the Crystal Cove prototype - it's now solid black. It's also a more streamlined form-factor from the first Rift, and looks more like how we've come to expect VR headsets to look.
holy shiiiit. Going to preorder next month I guess.
Whatever it costs, I will be preordering. Just for the virtual cinema. I don't need anything else
WHATEVER THE COST
350 bucks is not that much., Wanted to get more expensive dslr anyway
