Experiment with longer exposures and fstops (if the dog will stay still long enugh)
Use a slower film ISO 200 or 100.

well, ur supposed to smack them, lightly of course, under the chin to train them
well, thats what some dog trainer lady told me when I was like 12 and was training my silky terrior (he looked the dog Benji, so I named him Benji )
