Too bad no modded 360 or ps3 anymore only a ps4 now. Must wait for 28 feb
have both modded 360 and ps3 and i'm not touching these jagged messes. PC and PS4 bring it on
So, you'll never gonna touch your PS3 again? Because 80%+ of the games are aliased. Did you play all these years 10m away from the TV just to apply a physical antialising filter?
I'll try this one on my modded PS3 (it's UE3 after all) and if the game is good I'll finish it on my PC. If it's mediocre/bad I will not even bother with the PC version.
no, i will play my ps3/360 again, but when new game is out i always go for best possible version of that game, that's the beauty of owning all platforms (screw xbone btw)
Content Descriptors: Blood, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs, Violence
Rating Summary: This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a thief attempting to defeat a conspiracy. Players sneak around guards and civilians in order to break into various buildings and steal items. Players sometimes use a blackjack to knock guards out. Throughout the game, characters use knives and swords to kill other human enemies. Blood splatter effects occur during battle. Corpses are frequently depicted, sometimes lying in pools of blood. During the course of the game, players can roam through a brothel environment in which several prostitutes are depicted topless. The central character has the ability to spy on couples engaging in sexual activity (topless characters); suggestive moaning and dialogue can also be heard. Some settings depict opium vats or characters under the influence of the drug. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” can be heard in the dialogue.
Played some 40 minutes. It's ok, mechanics work nice, controls are good, stealing loot is fun but the game has no soul and presentation sucks. The prologue is very quick, CG video is horrible, beginning of 2000s quality, sound design of the vid is atrocious - only some yells, gasps and music, no sound fx . In-game sound on the contrary is nice and quite atmospheric.
Dunno, I have mixed feelings. Technically it's ok but storytelling is so bland... after Dishonored it's hard to force oneself to keep playing just for the fun of looting stores especially when you're not 20 (and even 30) anymore.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
Removing foreign languages on PS3 brings it down to only 6GB
And @Waargh : PS4 version can't improve the story ?
(yeah that's trolling, but I was just trying to reinforce my point about multi platform games, people thinking the PC version of a game for example being a messiah and making shitty games awesome )
after reading this on neogaf, i'm glad i cancelled my ps4 preorder:
Quote:
The streams was doing some experimenting. He would stand in front of a guard, push it, and the guard wouldn't react. Guard would walk by him, he knocks him out and then throws him down some stairs. When he does this, the body literally slides down sideways with no sound effects. It really looked like a game of Slip n Slide. He kept knocking guards out, tossing their bodies down the stairs, and they would just slide down.
Later on, in some secret underground bunker, the player had to solve a puzzle. He has to keep through heavy underground brick walls. He sees guards having sex. Cue horrible cheesy sex dialogue. Except that when you leave the wall, run down some stairs feet away, you can still hear the dialogue as if you were standing right in the room.
The AI was abhorrent. Dude was playing on normal and he would alert guards of his presence, run into next room, hide in closet. Guards would then enter, make a BEE line to the closet and just stare at it before moving on after a minute to check elsewhere.
It was so laughably bad, I don't think words do it justice.
Its fun and challening, and the only natural way for a new Thief game to be. People who played the old theif games will see that they kept a lot of the old godness and added new stuff But yeah, its a modern Thief, so cut scenes and some scripted sequenses accur, but not that often. There are also times when you cannot go back after falling though a floor or opening a secret wall. But don't get me wrong its not like the new hitman game where you are afraid of opening doors! The game IS open world, there are sidequests from a certain guy you meet early in the game and there are tasks from regular people around in the city. Not done any of those yet tho.

Hard to give it a score so early on... 7-8/10

Thanks

So tempted to get this on PS4 but my sensible side says just play it for free on the PS3 .... Think I'm only gonna buy and play PS4 exclusives .... Tho Watchdogs will be a tough decision

I suggest trying the PS3 version. I only managed to play for 30min yesterday and didn't see any excessive aliasing. Also I didn't encounter any frame drops and graphics wise the game is nice even on PS3.
Question: What difficulty did you all choose? Master or Master Custom with classic Thief gameplay elements?
Is it me, or this game is actually rather fugly? Not because of the "low res" (it's 1080p on Xbox 360, I checked on my TV) and not because of the aliasing, those factors are fine. It has simply bad graphics, low res PS2 level textures reminiscent of the last Thief game IMHO. And I feel that it will be pretty much the same on "nextgen" as well.

PS3 is usually 720p (besides FFXIII) while on the Xbox 360 this time it's 1080p. So 360 is a better choice here. Not that it improves anything mind you...
Completed the game at a little over 9h30min BECAUSE I looked over secret achievements and figured there was 10 chapters, but there was only 8 I was gonna do all the sidequests after chapter 9... so iv not done any of them But good news everyone, you can complete them after doing the story
Two good tips:
The ABSOLUTE first thing you should buy is the wrench, if you don't you have to go back (unless you don't care about missiing stuff and finding the fastest/best route inside different buildings )
And yeah, BE prepared for chapter 7... you have two choises and one of them is pretty much impossible if you don't have any food (health)
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
