Dunno yet, hard to say, only played in two games, seems ok won't judge till I have played more, but I dont like the UI for selecting mechs and stuff right now before gameplay, seems lame. Also you are supposed to be able to modify and build ur own mech stuff but I see absolutely nowhere to do this...
On this front Hawken has that perfect for being obvious and ease of use.

I've played more MWO over the last 1½ year than I care to admit and even though it has plenty of flaws (ui and being beginner unfriendly is among the top ones) I still love the game for it's gameplay.
As you've just started playing one of the reasons you can't customize your mech yet is that you're most likely using trial mechs. You can't actually make changes to those, you will need to buy one first.
Hawken has without doubt the edge when it comes to presentation and not making you feel completely lost in the beginning but I myself didn't like the more twichy gameplay in it. I prefer the slower more... tactical(?) tempo in MWO.

Sadly, the last time I tried this, they were waaay overboard with the grind. You barely get any money after matches and the cash needed to buy a decent one is ludicrous. I think I managed to get a decent ballistic Blackjack going before giving up. Real shame, since the core of what made the MW games good is still there, just there is a lot of stuff piled on them that makes it a bit unappealing.

hmm I thought it looked ok the credit earning so far.
I only played 3 games or so and I have 3million which is what at least almost half of a mech at least...
regarding the customizing part.. ok awesome so the trial ones are for u to use to get credits then buy and then customize... at least that pondering thought is out the way now..
Must say after the 3rd game its starting to feel better.. Sitting in my dragon trial mech and having a little faster one appear and run rings around me was terribly fun lol.
edit: oh of course just realised its double xp weekend lol so now I see why I am gaining credits faster. best use this weekend to rack some up then.

I think the bonus this weekend is just for XP, not cbills. However for your first couple of games (10 or so? Can't remember) you earn extra cbills. When the bonus end you'll have around 7-10 million iirc and that's enough to be able to buy almost any mech.

I really liked MWO but have switched to world of tanks like 2 years ago... to be honest, one of the main reasons was that it felt like MWO was dying (not enough players).

Is the f2p model and progression still as terrible as it was closer to when it was it was released?
Have they implemented any meaningfull new content(aside from stuff they can sell)?
