Well if a low can be 'no multiplayer bots' why doesn't this rule apply with DOD: Source? This is such a BS review and I won't be misled. I'm sure that Q4 online will play quite a big part in MP gaming for at least a few years. Also... I am a HUGE fan of Q3A but defeating nightmare mode just isn't as pleasing as whooping every1s arse online. From the vids ive seen I don't think there are any probs with online play with movements appearing to mimic those of q3a which is a BIG bonus for me since most upgrades lately have been fucked up. Still.... 18th of october idk if I should but it or not becuase I know im gonna want this to play online but I need money

I use gamefaqs.com as a source for release dates. They seem to be pretty good! Apparently there is a special edition of Quake 4 out 11th October and the standard version is due for the 18th ... which seems odd ...
Quake 4 Special Edition is apparently the dvd version and is bundled with Quake2 and the expansion packs.

just preordered the collectors edition which also includes quake2, which i never "officially/legally" owned
Ordered it together with FEAR as it hits the shelves nearly the same day.

Final Verdict:
Highs - Loads of action; gruesome visuals; Q3DM17 with Doom 3 graphics

Bottom line - This old-school shooter suffers from a lack of 21st-century game design. |
And Doom3 had neither of the highs.

The IGN reviewer doesn't seem to have a clue about what Quake is all about. He thinks multiplayer is too simplified, would like vehicles and weaponmods in mp etc etc...

This game seems to be ok, nothing special, just as I expected. The old formula with new graphics is a combination I have found very disappointing in the past. Was this game not named Quake, it would have had a lower rating as well.

I don't see how UT2k4 is better than UT1999 . I personally Hate having to travel for 5 minutes on foot, or 1 minute in a vehicle to reach opponents. Quake is all about explosions and fast reflexes. This is why it's so popular and from the vids it doesnt look like its changed at all (and why would it?). If it did include vehicles it would only be branded an UT rip-off anyway. |

whats the point of this? You can play dm in ut2k4 without having to run on foot for 5 min .
About quake , why should they change a great gameplay? Everybody want to same gameplay with new graphics .

I suspect a lot of people want to play this purely for nostalgia reasons. I think the original quake may have been one of the first games I ever bought. In fact I even bought it before we had a computer!! Quake 1 + 2 were quite simply some of the best games ever made. Quake 3 took the world into a new era of online gaming with a spectacular online engine and superb netcode. IF quake 4 is a combination of all 3 before it, then this is gonna be one to have!

I expect q4 to be the best game ever seen on planet earth.
I doubt it,but I think that even aliens (yes!! those green little creatures...) from other planets will download it and play it!
