I never cared for Valentine's day, not when I was single and not now when I'm engaged and planning to marry.
We don't give each other presents.
People who are in love don't need a holiday dedicated to them. If you're in love you spend your time with your loved one regardless- you hold each others hands, cuddle, whatever. Giving each other sweets or flowers just seems fake to me, what is so special about February 14th? I believe in love "till death do us part", but buying stupid shit like pink hearts made in China is a disgrace to that emotion.
If you love somebody- don't use a stupid holiday like the Valentine day as an excuse to finally show your SO that you love her/him. Spend as much time as you can with your SO, listen to her/him, go to a restaurant more often than once in a year. Love is a wonderful thing, and wrapping it up in a pink cellophane from a cheap chocolate is not needed.
