The team is doing a great job with the support, 3 more patches and I'll reinstall this beast.
Here's someone that knows what he's talking about for anyone wondering whats the state of the game right now
Even though I always liked and watched his videos, even back in the day, his super positive attitude towards Rome2 makes me wanna puke. It's also very shady because he's only acting like that since he was invited by CA to come and visit them prior to Rome2's release.
But I guess you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
There is also quite alot of people that know alot more about what they're talking about than Heir and they say the game is still trash... so yeah, I'd take his attitude with a grain of salt.
i've played the last couple days again and well ... siege battles are still suspect to bug out. I.e. the AI infinite loop as i like to call it (some units getting stuck in a AI loop, because they can't find a valid path) which can slow down to game to an absolute crawl (1 sec becomes like 10 secs). But more often than not, the AI is able to overpower you, if they have a proper amount of units.
Also romans have been seriously nerfed. They have quite a hard time against other melee infantry especially.
it's updated almost daily. with all new units and factions etc. including new buildings, new traits and skills. it also removes all arcade abilities (flaming javelins and all that garbage).
AI doesn't stand there and take it up the arse that much on the campaign map anymore. It's acting a bit better in battles too. Diplomacy is a bit better. Performance is a bit better (or even extremely good now for some).
Siege AI is still crap and so is the combat in general because the engine still sucks balls when it comes to non projectile based units in general (and this time the "honourable bushido code duels" get-out-of-jail card doesn't count).
Marshall your savagery, and strike primal fear into the hearts of your enemies with the Beasts of War unit pack for ROME II. Comprising seven new battlefield units, Beasts of War brings further variety to ROME II’s already diverse unit roster.
Terrorise your enemies and slow their progress with beehive, scorpion and snake-pot ballistas, or crush them under the weight of heavily-armoured Cataphract Camels and Mercenary Syrian Armoured Elephants. And when their will is broken and they flee the field, run them down with two new breeds of ferocious war-dogs.
