...to be driving bicycle (mountain bike) in the middle of the winter Laughing

I don't care. Its great! I don't have to wait for a bus and its faster than just walking to work.
The distance is only 3km so not far (yeah I am kinda lucky to work near where I live)

But recently for a week or two its even more fun. Today it was -15C degrees and it was snowing whole day when I was at work. So even sidewalks were covered with plenty of snow. That 3km was a nice workout but to say the truth, I think I feel better than year ago and before. This year I don't have cold, running nose or sore throat. The usual suspects of the winter. I promised myself that I will be driving on a bike to work, year ago when I started (work there for about 18 months) and not even a -30 or whatever will stop me. So I am waiting for temps to go down to see how it is Very Happy I like winter.

That is a sidewalk btw.

and ofc a Cool pics of me. The crazy guy that is. I was not expecting that driving a bicycle in weather like that is so uncommon.

My fingers hurt when I had to take gloves off to take those pics

you're not crazy Laughing you're just daring Cool Face
i walk to work everyday ( M-F ), in 15 min. i'm there.
i leave my house when i want, i don't need to hurry to catch the buss lol wut or wait for it there in the cold when i can just walk and let my body warm me Smug

on a bike you need to get dressed really good, protect your face, hands, etc, it really is colder on a bike. ( you seem to be equipped pretty well )
i'll buy a bike in the spring/summer, haven't had one since i was a kid

Used to be like that in Belgium as well. Biking through storms and all.

This winter I kinda gave it up in Sweden (when if finally started snowing and having icy bikeroads). Way too many parts for me where hardly anyone comes through.

So let's say you fall (can happen no matter how good you bike) there is a high chance I'd be laying there for hours. So in this kind of weather, I decided to take the buss/train instead waiting for less icy roads. Kinda annoys me tho, since I'm used of biking all of the time.

But sense of safety prevailed, so hurray I guess! Laughing

I did this few a few months here in -15F. Got rid of my car to get rid of the car payments and saved until I could buy a used car. It isn't bad if you got the gear to do it.

Nice Smile
At least you have a proper bike for that. On Monday I was riding through the snow to work and it was slippery as fuck, because the first layer of snow was frozen and the snow plows cleared all the snow from the streets on the sidewalks, fucking great Smile
In the end I needed nearly twice as long to get to work and it was really like a workout and I hate to workout Smile
