im gonna be given a PNY Vertigo 6600 256 mb video card next week. Just wondering how much improvement I should see compared to my current radeon 8500 le 64mb

I got a hp 724n pavillion, 2.53 ghz, 512 mb ram, win xp home

i like playing the latest pc games

there will be a big enough improvement for you to not have to worry aboutif you should use it or not. Just wait till you have it and see the results for yourself! Also the staying power of the 6600 will last you a while from now on, the 8500 is already outdated.
