so i got really mad trying to make it work win 7 -> win 8 hamachi vpn. the best i got was that i need to reset my win7 machine every time i want to be able to access it. and no, restarting hamachi service, disabling/enabling interface dint work. just restart.

before this, i was unable to make it work win 7 -> win 7 because of an old issue, there is a topic on their forum since 2011, without any official answers/solution. sometime worked by restarting service, sometime by renaming the connection, sometime it just dint work. had to reinstall it and pray.

http://community.logmein.com/t5/Hamachi/Failed-to-connect-to-the-network-adapter-Peer-is-not-accessible/td-p/34112/page/4

anyway, since few months ago i let it go. if i wanted something from my seed box, i reset it, and worked fine for a random period of time after.

now, i wanted to get the movie evolution from my seed box.
i login to my account, and behold :
Code:

"We will begin gradually migrating users of LogMeIn and Ignition-branded remote access offerings to a paid-only account-level subscription of LogMeIn Pro…

In order to continue using remote access, you will need to purchase an account-level subscription of LogMeIn Pro.  You will have the option to choose a subscription that meets your needs based on the number of computers you want to access. Take advantage of special introductory offers in the coming weeks by logging into your account at LogMeIn.com for pricing information and offer details."

they ask for 45$ (i think i saw before deleting the account in rage) for 2 computers. that is a special price for me. because the full price is 99$/ year.

anyway, i activated the team viewer vpn, speed is a bit slower but not with much, and at least it worked in 1 minute. without any issues or restarts.

Try dameware? i LOVE dameware. (not free, but easily gotten for free Smile)
Its what i use on all my machines here at the house, and what I remote into my server box with. I love it a lot more than logme in, teamviewer ect.
Unless you need the tunneling hamachi part..it doesn't have that :\

OpenVPN should be what you want if it's the tunneling you need.

If I want to regularly log in a remote windows server machine that's running an AMP stack what RAT would you suggest ? I've only used TeamViewer and it seemed pretty good.

^Teamviewer is fine for 99% of cases. Although I wonder why you simply don't use RDP?

Why i like dameware remote vs RDP tainted, RDP unless you remember to do -console or -admin depending on the OS, doesn't put you on the console itself, but as a virtual user.

For example dbgview debug doesn't show squat in it unless your on the console session. Plus RDP locks the remote view, dameware doesn't (not really needed if its true remote, but great if its a box in your house your going into.)
Plus I like to be able to tell it to resize to fit window, so I can have a 1920x1200 monitor 'scaled' down to a tiny window, vs RDP making it scroll:
 Spoiler:

And vs teamviewer that does all those, I have no need to have an account with someone, or signup for anything ,or signin to use it. All just personal preferences of mine is all

will try it, but for now i'm happy with teamviewer. i used hamachi from time to time to play some old games with some of my friends.
