Though I really like the atmosphere and sense of immersion, you feel "alone" and being watched all the time, but I'm not convinced about the huge amount of scripted scenes in the video really. I don't know, it almost gave me the impression that there isn't much freedom for the player, kinda like in Amnesia Squeal Edition, which would be a shame. Still early to tell, though!
I know what you mean, but to be fair the player doesn't really have any freedom in Amnesia either. But as I said, I know what what you mean.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Exactly, what I meant was, linearity and hand-holding aren't necessarily related, and Amnesia #1 did a remarkably good job at "hiding" it well despite the game being linear. It still required some logical thinking and it wasn't just a 100% cinematic experience where you just pressed W and listened to the narrator. You weren't free, but you were free to think that you were free, which is the best approach for horror games.
"There's only one alien for "most" of the game, our source said; you'll mostly be shooting through "clones and soldiers."
Unless they come out and openly abandon that concept, I'm still dreading this game.
I think they're showing us very isolated parts of the game, stuff that they know we skeptics want to see. Once it gets closer to release and they need to advertise to the masses, we're going to see android Weiland soldiers bursting through the walls in slow motion and our character crafting assault rifles and season passes for Aliens cast skins.
Tomb Raider was pitched as a grueling survival game. We ended up with Gears of Lara Croft, instead. And possibly with an even higher body count.
yeah alien game, that will go well (srsly -it looks great)

SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"

It's too early to say but it looks interesting...an Alien game where you don't kill them by the truckload like they're nothing. Come on what happened to them actually being a real threat and not trash you mow down?
In before "Isolantion 2: Aliens Fuck Yeah" directed by SEGEA, featuring shooting and action and 100000000000000000000000 xenomorphs and action and shooting and fuck yeah and pew pew pew for retards and Marines and fuck yeah!

I have this nagging feeling that a month or two prior to its release, they'll reveal the generic pew pew portion of the game, and that the gameplay in the above video is limited to %30 of the game.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
Running and hiding can be tense, but it's not enough to sustain my interest for very long.
Also, I'm sort of sceptical because of the major Ridley Scott dick sucking. Yes, Alien is a fantastic film and visually brilliant - but it's also a film, not a game.
Don't be afraid to have your own vision and do something unique. Emulating others isn't too interesting in the long run.

When has been an Alien game that has been unique? It's always the stupid pew pew pew Cameron Aliens dick sucking w/ swallow.

Your point?
I don't recall saying anything about other Alien games being unique.
That said, I really liked AvP2 and I even liked the 2010 AvP game. I also prefer Aliens to Alien - but I'd probably really enjoy a proper game based on the first movie.
I love the concept of being alone on a space station against one Alien - but there needs to be a lot of exploration and stuff like hacking. Something like System Shock would work brilliantly.
But that's not what I'm seeing in those videos. I'm seeing nothing except hiding and cutscenes.
