Fuck those boring Dredges! Little to a no chance I wouldnt like this game, but day 32 and I wish there where an auto combat button, thats how lame it is to meet the same enemy again and again.
There are two kinds of people I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.
what a bunch of crybabies, game is good. It is a bit like KoDP (King of the Dragon Pass) yeah you guys probably never heard of that game anyway its way better then Shadowrun.

Well in that game you didnt have ultra boring tactical combat against the same enemy again and again...And now that we are namedropping old games, I would love an Vikingish "Lost Patrol" game!

Not just good, it's great! I just opened map screen and stayed there for half an hour. Judging by it alone this game can turn into something quite extraordinary.
The story so far is progressing relly well. It reminds me a lot in style to A Song of Ice and Fire. Gloomy setting, various viewpoints and characters with their own agendas. It's even somewhat poorly written just like ASoIaF
Only thing that's really bothering me is animation speed in combat. Other than that, wow!
great game, but the alternating turns thing is stupid,if its 6vs3 i should have the advantage but i dont because i may not be able to get in position and they can focus fire weak characters.
So here I am, I lead my clan away from Dredge and I'm enjoying the shit out of this game. Story is getting deeper and better. Nothing looks like it was on first look. I'm even starting to question decisions I made way back in the journey. Then It get even more intense, I run out of food and everyone around me starts dying, clansmen, Varls, fighters... I know I'll need them further on, so I regret every loss. Then I get besieged, make some dubious decisions, kill my first boss, heartbreakingly loose the heart of my party, and just as my mind is working on what I'll have to do next, the credits roll...
It all just ends. I really haven't seen such an abrupt ending to anything in my life. You don't even get a cliffhanger. Storyline just ends like it was cut with an axe. Absolutely nothing gets resolved. Side stories are left open, main story is open, outcomes of your decisions are not resolved, clansmen, that you cared about, mean nothing. I really thought that I wasn't even halfway through the game as it was over. It completely ruined my experience.

It's because it's the first part of a trilogy (assuming that it sells well and all). It's why I both want to play it, and don't want to, until it's all out.

Trilogy should still be long. So should indie rpg, just look at Knights of Pen & Paper. The length here you'd only expect from episodic games. And certainly from one that is longer than three episodes.
Just play the game, it's good.
Don't agree with the supposed abrupt ending, the story does not explain everthing cause of the planned sequels, but is fine for a stand alone game.
Where is all the praise coming from? The game is super boring and so shallow. No real class diversity, few abilities, poor equipment, bland arenas and one kind of enemy.

I don't get this repeated "one enemy type" complaint. I'm assuming the people that find fault with that have never liked any other game, ever? Don't like shooters, only one enemy (shooty men). Don't like zombie games, only one enemy (zombies). Etc., etc.
Not to mention it is actually false. If you are talking about Dredge, they hare something like half a dozen classes/types. They aren't even the only enemy race if that is more what you are bitching about. You also regularly fight Humans, and occasionally Varl, and they each have varying classes/types.
TBS has its issues, certainly, but "only one enemy" is not one of them.

Well one type of enemy isn't the worst part about the game but it is a big one. Also your examples are hardly fair since this game isn't a zombie game or a shooter even though those kinds of game actually throws different kinds of enemies at you whether it's stronger zombies or other human survivors.
The problem is that you face Dredge and dredge and some other humans/varls very rarely. The dredge comes in a few kinds like regular, large or slinger and that's about it. The fact that some have a shield and some a two hand weapon doesn't make it any more interesting.
But as I said it's not the biggest problem, my biggest problems are more about the fact that the character progression is non existant, that different classes doesn't feel all that different, that you can't properly equip your heroes, that pretty much all arenas look the same, no height differences, obstacles or other hazards.
In the end the game just feels rushed and I'd rather play any other Tactical RPG other than this one

This game is great because I funded it. Reading this thread makes me not want to play it though. Still at the start where we get introduced to Rook. lawl
But the art is great and the world is fancy. Just hope the sequel expands on everything. But 12 hours long? Come on.
Though with the lack of combat diversity, that's probably a good thing.
Surely it all comes down to parts 2 and 3? If both of them are another 12 hours each (which they should be), and improve on the enemies (which they should do), then for what backers paid for the digital collector's edition (all 3 parts for $25) it'll be great. 36 hour long tactical turn-based RPG with glorious art and music. Aces!
But, like all trilogies, it's down to the follow-ups. Look at Mass Effect 1, then tell me 2 and 3 did it justice.
Interestingly, the wait to see if it's a good "whole game" is much like Broken Age. The only difference with that is it's only another 3 months or so til we get the second-and-final-part.

It's an RPG and you don't find fault with fighting the same enemy type? Strange. Even the most basic of RPGs usually have dozens of enemy types.
Dozens? I guess it depends on how you define "type". I am assuming people in this thread are classifying it as race. So in that case, yes TBS only has 3 races, of which 1 is the primary antagonist. But really, how many racial types in other RPGs are truly unique entities? Look at any major RPG and chances are that the bulk of the enemies are nothing more than glorified palette swaps of a handful of types. Are you saying if you kept the combat in TBS mechanically identical but just swapped out some of the artwork for orcs, elves, goblins, etc. it would suddenly be so much better?
Awesome game. Despite the flaws I love it.
It seems I am addicted to TBGs.
Art style, atmosphere... beautifull choice of art and world.
Tried ISO demo but I am going to buy it for next pay. It is worth to support TBG.
