There was an urban legend surrounding my former professor, since apparently she was caught having sex in the school's bathroom with an underage student, but nobody pressed charges back then and she was able to continue her career.

Wasn't most of this consensual though? No abuse or coercion, I haven't read all of the cases on that website but it seems like that.
EDIT: Well it seems some used alcohol or even drugs.
EDIT: Well yeah the reactions would likely still have been different if it was male teachers and female students.

well here legal age of sex with consent is 16, but it still would look bad, so it's done under wraps
Children have sex with their peers from around 15
but in the US if a person has sex with someone not legally 18 - it's RAPE!! and you're a fucking SEX OFFENDER PEDOPHILE!!

A teacher is in a position of authority and someone a kid usually doesn't question. Teenagers tend to keep to themselves and in these cases they can think they're the ones in trouble.

Surely you see a difference between two teenagers aged 16-15-14 having sex, and student sleeping with an adult, let alone a teacher? |
