Just read that there are no manual saves, only checkpoint system. LOL - who would knew that normal save system is so difficult to those Kickstarter devs. SR, now this. Pathetic.

Actually I kinda prefer checkpoint saves over manual saves. It makes you think about what you do instead of endless saving/reloading until you get the best result.

Who gives a fuck about people who do that? It's not like manual saves are used ONLY to do that...

Spoiler: | Is the death of that king in the first battle with those armored guys scripted and cannot be avoided? |

Quite disappointed so far. I don't feel attached or interested in any of the characters. I wish there are some sort of customization.

They really should've skipped voice acting altogether. It is Bethesda-level awful.

Run the game from the shortcuts created on desktop or start menu.
or create your own shortcut with "*your direction*\The Banner Saga\win32\The Banner Saga.exe" -console --saga saga1/saga1.json.z --new_music --offline" in target.

Read the NFO.
The choices are really well made. I once lost a maxed out Varl in one of those scenes ;o

Checkpoint system and a god awful combat system + weak character development.
I really have to stop impulse buying games...
One more to the kickstarter fail list though...

I'm actually enjoying the game. It's not "deep", but both the atmosphere/story (with the numerous choices) and turn based combat system seem solid enough, and the art style is simply beautiful but we already knew that. Nothing too innovative of course, though it's a formula that works fairly well in my opinion.
My gripes so far are the lack of variety (fighting locations are all alike, same for enemies, but I'm still at the beginning) and the auto-save system that made me rant a couple of times.

Reminds me of Shadowrun, just seems lazily constructed, like they put minimal effort into it. The art is really nice though, I can't say anything bad about that. Feels like a mobile game
