This video was meant for employees of various game stores, and since they get more sales from the console market, it'd make sense if the narrator was talking in the console sense.
However, this video is from a PC. The FP view movements are too fluid and aren't consistent as it would be if controlled by the stick. This was also obvious in the cursor movement, and that it was a mouse driven interface in the first place. |
The x-box version is faster then the pc, don't forget, it uses a card simalar to the radeon x1800, but one that is somewhat faster then the pc-version. Besides that, new consoles have always been faster then high end pc's when they are released , even with lower specs as was the case with the first x-box. A console renders graphics just more efficient then a pc does. BTW, i've read somewhere that elder scrolls was tested both on pc and x-box, and the x-box 360 was twice as fast. (and did i mention that tv-screens have lower res, well i stop here, said enough)

Think it will be a year or more, the new consoles hava better specs then before. (the old x-box didn't had a high end gfx card)

Play it on PC.
It will be far superior.
Lets not forget this great article that explains why PS3 and Xbox360 will be ass:
http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/manifesto.html
look at the part on the AI..which you will be playing against in morrowind.
I was almost going to get a console finally (last console I owned was..uhm.. 8bit nintendo I think) I had a PS1 for awhile enjoyed a couple games on it, but I'm glad I've always stuck with the PC.

Dont be such a fanboy crossmr
PCs are great but so are consoles. Some games are meant to be played on PCs and some on consoles. However Oblivion is defo a PC-game.
Gaming - Intel Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHZ | Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB | SB X-Fi | PC6400 8GB | 300GB Velociraptor

I'm hardly a fanboy. I've just always enjoyed gaming on a PC much more. I don't actually enjoy multiplayer games that much, so playing a console thats going to gimp the AI out of the gate doesn't really excite me.
The only games I've enjoyed on a console have been FFVII, old mario stuff, and Legend of Dragoon for PS1, and phantasy star IV on sega. I guess if a company made a game like that that I just HAD to have I might get a console, but it wouldn't be likely.
The PC is just superior though in the sense that if they do fuck up the game (which happens) they can actually patch it, and mods of course...player made content..etc

Had he known how processors even worked he would've realized that this is a dumb as hell argument. The ONLY difference would be is faster execution of code in trade of stricter programming guidelines, which I'm pretty sure Microsoft has rectified because they're pretty much they know what the developers want.
But I suppose he needs to pull arguments out of his ass so he can get some brainless supporters that don't bother studying up on his 'claims'.

Did you even read the article he linked to:
"Gameplay code will get slower and harder to write on the next generation of consoles. Modern CPUs use out-of-order execution, which is there to make crappy code run fast. This was really good for the industry when it happened, although it annoyed many assembly language wizards in Sweden. Xenon and Cell are both in-order chips. What does this mean? It’s cheaper for them to do this. They can drop a lot of cores. One out-of-order core is about four times [did I catch that right? Alice] the size of an in-order core. What does this do to our code? It’s great for grinding on floating point, but for anything else it totally sucks. Rumours from people actually working on these chips – straight-line runs 1/3 to 1/10th the performance at the same clock speed. This sucks. " -Chris Hecker
and if you're wondering who he is:
http://www.cmpevents.com/GD05/a.asp?option=G&V=3&id=90772
Good chances are if this guy says it sucks for making games on, he's right.

Ah ok, my bad.
You can find some good mods at:
http://www.khalazzaprod.fr.st/ - Some good graphics-mods
http://www.thelys.org/modlist.php - A whole bunch of mods
And honestly just download em all, they arent very big and then just try em out.
Most of the face-mods are nice, especially Emmas facemods. Then i like these:
ZeroTheHero_Trees_Replacement_0.2
MorrowindAdditions
Blocking_Enhanced_v1_1
Armorer
mw_visual_pack_2.11 - awesome graphics-upgrades, use along with: KP_MW_Visual_Pack_2.2_nature
