You act alone. Snipers do usually act in two man teams you are correct. Snipers primary role is actually recon and not killing as well.

That's sounds really nice. I hope for a game with a feel of the movies like" Enemy at the gates " or "Sniper". Is there a lot of combat other than sniping or rather "hide and seek" with occasional shot? I hope for the latter.

It all depends on how u wanna play i'd say. initally its hide and seek but thats to give a feel for the game. Once u learn how to shoot and all that shit, u can pull of rambo type shit and find a nice ledge and pick off a platoon of guys...obviously u dont shoot tons of bullets all at once...but u pick off one guy, let them search around a little, pick off another guy...and try u mask ur shots with sounds in the game - like a bolt of lighting or thunder or artillery etc
this game has a lot of lil finer points that make it really nice.
play it on the hardest setting for max realism...the rookie setting, man, u can walk around basically and just blow ppl away. the hardest setting is by far the best and most authenic...and yeah, it does kinda have an enemy at the gates feel to it, just ur american, not russian - well, i think u can be russian come to think of it

yeah man, im gunna pick this one up on tuesday...was to lazy to go out today and its Thanksgiving tomorrow so shit is closed.
Some of the lil dynamics are wicked and i see this game having a decent amount of single player replay value. Especially if ur into this type of shit and im a fan of like swat, spec ops, ww2, military shooters in general. Or spy games etc Laughing This is my new favourite game and was a complete surprise, best game of 2005 so far i think. We'll se how FEAR and COD2 and VietCong 2 fair - I think VC2 is gunna be awesome, aswell as COD2, but this time around im lookin for innovative, new shit ya know? Like FEAR is the same but in a way its different. a new approach to FPS's. I hope COD2 has some big surprises (and the demo was misleading) as well as vietcong.
Either wich way,Sniper Elite is in the top 5 military games of 05 for sure. Get it, NOW! Smile

has anyone been able to bind the RMB for move forward without it activating the sniper scope everytime you press the button? ive binded move forward to RMB and activate scope to the shift key, but everytime i go to move forward, the scope comes up then i move...

Been having the same prob...had to rebind my keys. All my mouse buttons seem to perform some other function (except the left mouse button). When i press middle to zoom, my guy changes stance. Its very annoying actually. I'm gonna look through the config files later, see if i can't work it out.

Anyone else worked this out?

Well, judging by the demo (and demo reviews on boards) COD2 may be a huge dissapointment. I am also into more sophisticated WW2 games like Hidden and Dangerous, and really into sniper games. I really enjoyed Line of Sight: Vietnam, although it had lot's of drawbacks.
Did you notice any flaws/bugs in Sniper elite?

it's one of the most realistic games i've ever played , i'm playing on the hardest difficulty with instant binocs/scope off , and its really challenging , they can spot u so easily when your careless , i got shot , flanked , n blown the fuck up way too many times , once wounded one guy his friend picked him up and carried him away , sometimes u cant just kill em , u need to synchronize ya shots with artillery or bombs , so they wont hear ya gunshots , stealth is the key to win too bad they aint included any knives :/

Ah speaking of hand. I saw this one guy walking along and I took a quick shot for him. He stopped all of a sudden right as I fired so instead of going into his chest it blew his hand off instead. It was crazy nuts.

you take oxy???

install xp then, fuck 2000 right in the ass.

I love this game, and it is realistic as confirmed by a mate who has done extensive sniping in Iraq. gfx could be better but if they were i bet they wouldve made the gameplay shit instead, the way it seems to happen.

This game crashes for me from time to time... and I don't have Audigy stuff but nForce SoundStorm by nVidia. Suddenly the screen goes black and I can hear just beeeeeeeeeep coming from my speakers (reboot required). But the game itself is really worth the money.

Ok, this is stressin me out big time...im at the the level where u gotta get into the control room of some facility and u have to use time bombs to blow open the blast doors....and im fuckin stumped...

Ive killed everyone in the facility, ive picked up anything there is to pick up. I dont have any time bombs in my inventory, only tnt. I tried using the TNT on each of the 4 blast doors, but everytime I get a failed mission message saying i killed to many civilians....wtf do I do? no time bombs and no tnt...and the only ppl ive killed in the facility all had guns and were military...so im guessing the civi's are behind the doors...it says something about setting the bombs for 4 minutes to allow the GR and civi's to get outta the way....but i have no time bombs....

Someone, please help me. This sucks and has brought my game and fun to a complete HALT. sucks...Sad

Thats what i figured...like the GR guys left me some kinda time bomb or a package somewhere...and I think the briefing says something like that....but there isnt one, ive checked everywhere, inch by inch...spent an hour going over the entire area, from insertion point to obj and couldnt find shit except dead bodies...

And about the online play, Laughing, thats what I was thinking...the whole aim of a sniper is to find a postion and wait. lol everyone will spawn and run to their spot...then what? .....Laughing every match takes like 8 hours to play cuz no one wants to move...

Very good man
The sniping is very realistic...well, to me, ive never shot a sniper rifle.

Stick to only aiming for one shot one kill, cuz after 2 or 3 shots the AI picks up where u positioned...thats a big key to this game...slick firing and movement skills. Multi player must be a pain in the ass when ur up against some leet 40 year old nerd who just runs around pwning ppl...

It's one of the best sniping what comes to reality, you only miss that "feeling when you know it's time to pull the trigger" that you can't have without actually holding a rifle in your hands and which actually is one important thing in real sniping.
Shoot and relocate, the first rule of sniping and this is about the first game which actually requires that if you want to survive. Only thing I miss is observer, but as this is located in WW II I can live with it,alone sniping was much more common back then.
All and on a really refreshing game, most of the current WW II games plain tuber runs and I am getting so bored to them.
