Eli's pretty much a goner, yeah. Already on Nucky's radar and thanks to his own wife too, haha. As much as I've liked Narcisse this season (tremenodus character) I really hope Chalky survives and manages to reconcile with Nuck somehow.

Knox may not die, but if everything crumbles (and it will, since Nucky will most likely use that meeting somehow, probably to solve his Narcisse-Masseria problem - be it by jail, or bloodbath), Hoover, being the dick he is, might just very well end him professionally, even if not literally.

Ya agre with most,
I don't see how Elii´s can make it right... and how his son gonna take it in the end. Will he be on Nucks side?

Knox is so easy to dislike (i´m always waiting for Eli to shoot him in the face and get it over) that he may survive.

Chalky as been stalling the all show, time to go. As Doyle do, Nuck must collect the half-million apolice in the dickish way possible

I dont get why so many minutes of footage where taken by Gillian since she as no part on the main story. A filer for the absence of a strong female roll on the season left by Margaret which is always good to see if not by the Scotch (Irish?) accent alone.

Yeah, "Mima"'s storyline was a bit of a drag. Then again, I liked the way it concluded - never liked her much Wink

I really liked Gillian's arc this year. The conclusion was heartbreaking and I have a feeling that she will not make it to the end of the finale.

You know it's a great season when even Margaret's (albeit brief) storyline is interesting.

Margaret's story with Rothstein should be playing out next season, which is when I expect Rothstein to find his demise (and death of course).

I'm surprised he died too.

I think season ended quite nicely. Giving closure to some of the side characters. Hopefully next season we are going to see more of Chicago/Capone and Rothstein.

This end was kind of a mid season clif, big build-up and no real closer. Lots of angry folks lined for the next season.
Hopefully Nuck will get his hands dirty next time around.

holy shit, what an ending, and its luckily not a self-contained season like the third one pretty much was.
overall an amazing season, a shitload of character arcs, with many of them fully completed, a very broad scope and great performances.
where i thought the show was getting stale by the end of s03, it came back with a bang and then some.
i will miss "him" though, one of my favourite characters Sad

Why everything needs to end with an epic shootout ?

Amazing ending , loved every second of this season..will miss some characters.. Sad epic scene at the end. Can't wait for next season really when I watch this show Im so in there..with the characters , living..and that happens very rarely today with movies or TV shows.

HBO just announced that the fifth season will be the last Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Y U No???? Rage Mind Is Full Of Fuck

Quote:
HBO’S EMMY®-WINNING DRAMA SERIES BOARDWALK EMPIRE TO RETURN FOR
FIFTH AND FINAL SEASON THIS FALL

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9, 2104 – The Emmy®-winning HBO drama series BOARDWALK EMPIRE will return for a fifth and final season this fall, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.

“It has been an incredible honor to bring this powerful and groundbreaking series to our subscribers,” said Lombardo. “Terry Winter has created one for the ages.”

“We’re thrilled to get the go-ahead for a fifth season of BOARDWALK EMPIRE,” said Terry Winter. “After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we’ve decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion.”

From Terence Winter, Emmy®-winning writer of “The Sopranos” and Academy Award®-winning director Martin Scorsese, BOARDWALK EMPIRE is set in the 1920s during Prohibition, and chronicles the life and times of Enoch “Nucky” Thompson, the undisputed leader of Atlantic City.

Among the critical raves for the fourth season of BOARDWALK EMPIRE, New York’s Daily News said it “remains must-see television drama,” while People called it “terrific” and a “gripping spectacle.” The Chicago Tribune hailed the show’s “achingly good performances,” and Variety termed it “one of TV’s most compelling dramas.”

Last September, BOARDWALK EMPIRE received five Emmy® Awards, the most of any series, in the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards competition, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Bobby Cannavale); Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series; Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera Series; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour); and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series.
In 2012, the show received four Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Tim Van Patten). In 2011, the series led all programming with eight Emmy® Awards, including Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Martin Scorsese). In Jan. 2011, BOARDWALK EMPIRE received two Golden Globe Awards, for Best Television Series – Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Steve Buscemi).

In Dec. 2013, the show received three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, including Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Drama Series, Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series (Steve Buscemi). In both 2012 and 2011, the series received two Screen Actors Guild awards, for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series (Steve Buscemi).

Season four credits: Created by Terence Winter, BOARDWALK EMPIRE is executive produced by Terence Winter, Martin Scorsese, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Tim Van Patten and Howard Korder; co-executive producers, Eugene Kelly and Eric Overmyer; consulting producer, Dennis Lehane; producers, Joseph Iberti and Rick Yorn.

Considering Boardwalk Empire is the story of Nucky (Enoch Johnson) before anything else, that doesn't sound too bad, especially if they follow up with a Luciano/Lansky/Capone/Commission spin-off. Dreaming is allowed Smile

yeah i think it's a good thing to have a series like this end properly and not just let go on and on and on and degrade.

Too many shows just keep dragging on and on and just get worse and worse and in the end it's all you remember about them.

Better to finish strong Smile
