I gotta agree with many people here.
Microsoft flat out FUCKED UP this game.
My User interface just disappears at the end of the second mission and i can't do anything but alt+f4 and exit the game.
The sound cuts off after like 40 minutes no matter what.
They've removed so many of the functions that used to exist in aoe2 that separated aoe from the rest of the rts's.
This game is a huge step down from Age of Empires II.
So I invite everyone to join me in sending a great big "FUCK YOU" to the bastaards at Microsoft who had the balls to release this piece of shit.

I've been running this on a laptop (dell i9300) and had no probs whatsoever so far. The game plays and looks great. Sure there are some probs like ships move like shit but very nice so far.
Btw you can't send a msg to Microsoft saying fuck you if you havent actually paid for the game.

cant get a lan game to work
when i try to join my freinds lan game it says error version mismatch
has anyone got a lan game to work using the nfo cdkey reloaded?
is it beacause we both used the same cdkey?

no offense guys but its a bit much asking for help to play multiplayer on an illegally downloaded copy dont you think? Its like stealing someones phone and then asking them how to change ringtones. If you want to play online or LAN you should wait till it comes out and kerching, pay £/$/€

Man is it just me? or does this game seem to bring out all the school kiddies screaming:
"OMGZ this game is set in COLONIALZ ages? thats soo not LEETZ! anything you could learn in school as a time age is soooooo not ROXOR as a basis for gameplayz!!!!!111!! How can I play online and say "my muskets PWNED jOO f00L!!??!!"
Seems some of the posts are kiddies wanting "lazergunpewpew" effects. Granted the game isnt what AOE-1 was, definitly not starcraft was. Some of the game elements are bad ideas, some are great ideas. change isnt a bad thing.
But why is it the people that like the game have post like "the game is rather good, has some bad elements, but its enjoyable"...civil and intelligent.
when 90% of the posts that dont like it, such as "OMG! this F**king Gamez SuXORS the big one!!!" or at least along those lines....no stuctive critizism, no facts on why. just that it "SuXORS!"

but after a minute or so, i WAS expecting someone to say "OMG! middle east SUXORS! bomb teh middle east!"
makes me ashamed to admit im an American. Even me who honestly doesnt care about the wars (not that Im heartless, just im one of those "ill worry when the bullets start hitting my house" types). knows more about who,why,where of what he was talking about, then all those people...thats a sad sad day indeed.

Anyone getting version mismatch, make sure you are both using the crack, or both not using the crack.
This game apparently lets you run it without putting the crack in, but some peopel claim it fucks your game up after a limited amount of time without the crack,
so to be safe, put the crack in, and make sure your friend has as well, that should get rid of version mismatch.
And keep the chat about that video out of this thread, or be banned for off-topic spam.

Apparently the game buggers out 2 hours in without the crack, i've yet to play it for such a time without the crack, but someone with more time on their hands might give it a go and see if it's true, if not, then maybe we have 'free' patches

Although slightly different from the trial, but that would probably change once i get somewhere.

THIS GAME IS "BETA" "ALPHA"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont even download... it will crash to desktop or the sounds will be cut off or the user interface will dissapear ARGH... I cant even think buying it if the game is really so buggy!!! I cant play the campaing because when its time to bring crossbowmen to the walls the interface dissapears and only ESC to windows is avalible ARGH. UNPLAYBLE PIECE OF SHIT! I Really really love Age but this is smth horrible... its not Final!!

this authentication crack is so simple it makes me weap, just run the game with firewall on, see what ip it tries to connect with, add that ip to your hosts file in \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
like so
x.x.x.x localhost
and keep doing that until you've ruled them all out, there play without kali or other vpn programs.

I spent a year of studies on american history. It's boring as fuck. Colonial era shit is so fucking boring. As for me being a leet kiddie...well I'm neither leet nor a kiddie. I love AoE2. I like AoM. I don't care for sci-fi RTS, but they can be alot of fun (Ground Control 2, the Earth series). Honestly, all I really play is Rise of Nations from Industrial to Post WW2/Modern. I love hearing the chatter of machine gun fire as opposed to the clanging of swords and shields. I like both to be honest, but there are very few RTS games that capture the world war pre/post industrial era of our history. That's the era AoE3 should have chosen. This era is very sparse civilization wise. It only appeals to a select group of people, mainly americans.
The artwork is drab as hell. Every building and unit looks utter boring hell.
You know what pisses me off? For all the gameplay idea they incorperated from other RTS games, WHERE THE FUCK IS AUTO EXPLORE?!? Ron has it, EE2 has it, EE1 has it. And I don't mean just the scout. Every unit should have an auto-explore.
So fuck you and your kiddie bullshit. Aside from playing around with home city customizations, and playing "AoE the CCG" with this deck of cards bullshit, this game is BORING. It looks boring (hey guys, lets make all the buildings log cabins in a desert map and then make all the interface pop up text YELLOW!). The gameplay is that same old bullshit formulaic RTS build order crap. BLLLAAAH.
So screw you DXWarlock go back to being leet and cool in your stupid boring shit colonial game. While your at it, shove a bayonet up your ass for me.
