It sure is, but let me tell you what I actually had in mind: a friend recently had a date with a girl who really liked to drink (or at least that's what he heard about her... turns out it was an exaggeration), so he decided to impress her by drinking (something he usually doesn't do). He ended up drinking too much and puked his guts out in front of her...

(and no, the friend isn't me Laughing)

What I'm saying is do what you want, and have an open mind about what she wants, but remember you don't need to do crazy things just to impress her, being yourself is usually better. You don't need to prove anything, with time she will see you for who you are.

This seems to be the major issue today. They don't seem to give you the chance.

Relationships in general and finding a companion that suits you perfectly are always based on trial and error, kinda like playing a hardcore version of battletoads. All you need is a huge amount of patience and determination, and then things fill eventually find their natural course. Failures aren't necessarily a bad thing, yes they suck but you can learn a lot from them.

That said, I think this one is definitely not a mission impossible. She seems alright and understanding, which is already positive. It's important that you two keep talking and knowing each other..then time will tell, the proof of the pudding is in the eating xD

Yes, I'm aware of that by now, but did she hold back that night when I went full romantic? No, she did not. She answered it with kisses and such. But I know now it wasn't the best move and that it took some serious damage. Luckily I've been given a second chance.

Haha!

How do you come up with stuff like this? Very Happy

True that be. Failures are only real failures when you learn nothing from them. Everything other than that counts as feedback.

@Aeon, how old are you? (I'm not as active as I should be Razz)

I can relate to what you're going through and I can give you a word of advice that usually works better than spewing your romantic guts out before a girl, even if it succeeds. When you do that, you reveal your most vulnerable side to the girl, and she gets to play with you. And that's boring.

I'd recomend that you keep a bit to yourself and stay a little bit mysterious. Try making her wonder about what is it that you want. Yes, you should be romantic, but only when you feel it's the right moment and that it's appropriate (the poem bit may be a little too much romantic).

Stay yourself, but never ever reveal too much to a girl. Think about seeing if she fits you, not the other way around. You should never put more into a relationship than the other side. It never end well.

I'm 21 since three weeks. And I'll take your advice, but it doesn't really fit for the current situation anymore, since she knows a lot about me and vice versa. But I'll use it for the future Smile

No, I mean if he was 30 and he reads poems to women at first/second date, then he has problem.
But if he's only 21, then all is OK, it's natural to be romantic when you are young.

But definitely Aeon should chase older girls, because younger ones these days seem to don't know what they want at all (unless you are pretty, then they know), trying to be "mystical", wild, innocent, and mature at the same time.
But with older ones everything is easier, including communication (unless they are severely damaged from previous relationships, but you can see that relatively fast).

Just what is up with young girls these days? They think (usually) they're more mature than guys and consider themselves (well, not all of them but most) with higher intelligence etc and yet when you try to have a talk with them, all you can hear them say is "bla-bla-bla." Confused
I have a friend who is dating a girl 8 years younger than him and they usually end up shagging because they don't have much to talk about (but I guess this is more like having a friend with benefit).
When did the evolution decide to screw guys?

Chasing after older skirts is a bit different but nothing you can't manage you smooth-love-master-3000 Wink

i was admin for 10 years on a local fairly big gaming forum in my country.
i could not believe how many times i had the chance to get laid with the girls. not only from our forum, but from other forums aswell, some never related with gaming. without asking me for a thing. no ideea why, by no means i'm not a macho man. 1.85m, and 72 kg.

fortunatley (or unfortunatley), i had (have) a girl, and no wish to betray her trust.

Aeon, what worked for me 14+ years ago when i was 21 (and younger), was to keep the action going.
why to walk on park holding hands, when we could have climb a mountain, swim, camping, hell even go fishing Smile. and in this case, i could found someone which had the same interest like me, and she would know me since beginning. and this filtered the list of girls very well. at least the ones without mountain boots Smile.
this was my location for testing the water with someone : http://goo.gl/kFeFK6 (short trip)
or this one for later dates. http://goo.gl/ocY9Kz (for camping.)

That's because women dig leadership and power (or whatever they perceive as leadership and power; they probably thought that, since you were admin, the rest of people on the forum have to obey you and thus you are a big playa, so they need your dick even if they won't get any other benefits from you beside the dick). Fuckin' women psychology...

Wine/drinks would most likely help, as long as you don't get too drunk Laughing
And if I were you I'd try to act more and talk less, if you know what I mean, and I think that you do Laughing

Movie together and out to eat in a nice place where you can talk usually works, but you have to be careful with your picks. Wrong movie or wrong place could magically make everything go tits up (not the girl, sadly xD)

- Keep that thing in your pants.
- Bowling+eating sounds fun. Or movie + eating at a nice place.
