It's same old RTS, don't bother. It even looks like 2d when zoomed out.
I turned in the game, tutorial dude was like "build barraks, build 5 soldiers" and I almost puked.
Now the kiddie reading my post is thinking "lol stfu noob AOE3 RULLLZZZZ you just dont like rts". Well I played rts's to death in Dune - Red Alert 2 range (timewise).
If anyone think this is a best RTS game or GOTY or something you need a god damn bitch slap. Wake up. |
yeah definitely not groundbreaking stuff here, by any means. its a fun basic game to play mostly at lan parties and whatnot and anything more than that is bs. i was actually nearly going to order it until i got ahold of the demo and discovered... no guard/defend mode? i am pretty sure red alert 1 had that 'feature' included. now i see theres a defense stance but some units cant even use that. and the option for formations is a lie, once you start fighting every unit just runs everywhere killing other units in mass chaos. stuff like that bothers me when games are supposed to be so much more these days. anyways the graphics are nice and the physics are really nice but once the wow factor wears off itll just be the same old same old. id give it 7.5/10.
although i do believe there is worse things than using the same basic formula in a rts...like making yet another ww2 fps...sigh...and there really isnt enough good rts games these days. so yeah, maybe id give it an 8.5 if they already had a workaround for the sb issue and a few other bugs.

I dunno what you were expecting.. its suppose to be exactly like the old aoe series.. a good generic RTS...

Are u serious man? Those asterisk's aren't serial numbers
The nfo's here at Nforce are "clean" nfo - they have the serial blocked out/removed

Yeah, get the actual nfo that contains the serial number
u wont find the serial number here at nforce and u arent allowed to request it and no member will send u a serial...there are numerous places where u could aquire the nfo/serial...have u tried looking on the fuckin game cd? reloaded usually includes their nfo in one of the cd's...possibly in the cd WITH THE CRACK?! |

You need to find the serial key. Check the nfo file. If not search google.

not to be a n00b or anything but is it ok to ask whether a keygen has been rlsed yet? and if one hasnt has anyone tried playing lan against someone else with the reloaded key?

Because posting a serial would mean nforce is helping the distrobution and such of illegal games (or whatever the serial works for) and nforce doesnt endorse piracy |

Not sure if anyone else was as disappointed as I was to find that the camera was too far zoomed in but I've found a solution.
Go to the Age of Empires III folder then into Startup. There you will find a 'game.cfg' file. This is set to Read Only by default so change that within properties.
Open this file in a text editor and find this section -
limitPitch=47
maxZoom=**
normalZoom=**
minZoom=29
extraZoomPercent=0.15
zoomSpeed=0.5
zoomWheelDivisor=30.0
Change the maxZoom and normalZoom to something that suits. Mine are both now set to 85 and gives me results like the image attached below.

Awesome the camera had been bugging me.
I was disappointed with the demo and I hoped the final would be better. It still plays like a rather average RTS. The magic from AOE 1 and 2 is gone. The random map generator lacks options. There's only 2 game types. I was hoping for better from an AOE game. What did someone say 7.5 out of 10? Seems fair.

age3 isnt better than age2, AI sucks a lot
how can i shoot on bears and they dont move or defend? on age2 when u was walking near wolve, they didnt need any shoot for attacking u
how can i go to enemy base with 1 explorer and attack some workers and they dont defend or go alone? and they were military units, and they didnt attack my explorar :S
graphics and music are better, but not hard, too many years since age2 arrived
AI suck
age2 is more adictive game than age3, 3d graphics dont help to adictivity, online age2 owned with starcraft some years, age3 wont do that

well after saying sound is ok, now its not as it keeps disappearing and don't come back, tried the usual settings and no joy, also it has crashed a fair few times, this is one buggy POS, and the only game to be like this on my PC, back to B&W2
