The fuck is the point in the Evangeline Lily character anyway? Just have some hormonal teens there? Or Lost dumbees? I really don't get why they added that character.

Oh my god yes. Evangeline Lilly is hot in this!
Spoiler: | She also seems to be part of a love story in the movie with one of the dwarves. |
Watched it tonight and loved every minute!
Spoiler: | But dammit it why did it end where it did!? :/
Mr Jackson had his cameo as the first person on camera too lol. |

I watched it again last night, and if they just cut every Tauriel love scene in the movie, the movie would be 8 or 9/10 for me.
I saw Stephen Colbert in the movie.
Also in some scenes you can clearly see Smaug being cgi, and molten gold was really poorly done...

That was good, very good, cant wait for third one. Love the barrel scene and those with Smough.
Much more 3D effects in this one (watched IMAX 3D version)

I really prefered the first one to this, it was far more epic.. The Smaug encounter was just a drag imo. I'd rate the fist one 9.5/10 this 7.5/10

I don't get the hate for this, I thought it was amazing, loved both parts so far. But yes, the Tauriel love scene was kinda out of place.

'm thinking too, that the first part of the Hobbit was very good and definatly better than the LOTR trilogy.
I' m very sad to hear that the second part isn't in the same direction.

The movie was great - however, I do think they have made elfs abit like superheroes rather than warriors sometimes..

Alright. I just watched the movie in HFR. It was obviously a different experience from regular 3D movie. I don't know what to rate it.
8/10 for the entire movie. -1 for the boring stuff. Makes it 7/10.
Maybe with regular 2D, I could give it few more points.

It was pretty good, but I would rate it lower than the first one since a lot bothered me. The love thing made absolutely no sense and was so out of place, it was painful. Elves were immortal superheroes, it was a bit over the top. There was zero sense of scale. I don't expect the scale LotR had, the book isn't meant to be epic, but I missed the grandness (the first one was more impressive in that regard). The movie didn't need that much time, some parts really dragged (I won't spoil anything). Smaug action wasn't worth all that hype with trailers and such, he plays a very small part in this one.
7.75/10

If someone makes a cut of the Hobbit 2, and throws away all the unnecessary Tauriel love stuff, it would actually be a pretty good movie...

Wait for the extended edition, where they add 40 more minutes and flesh the character so much using the source material.

Spoiler: Tauriel is not sourced from the books. Her only function is to be pretty, have some CGI fight scenes and be in a love triangle.
