So the Galaxy S2 my wife was using died on us (we can't access anything on the phone anymore Sad it just stays black ) and we want to get her a new phone. The LG G2 looks great with quite some power, big display and a huge battery (3000mAh).

Anybody here who used the phone? Smile

S2 probably needs factory reset

LG while hw quality is good, don't expect any updates in the future, unless it's nexus

No startup logo, nothing. I tried connecting via adb but no device found there either. The phone is just dead. With battery/with replacement battery or without battery at the charger, doesn't matter Sad

@Mortibus: I do not really care for the latest Android and if there were to be some killer feature, I guess I could always go root & cyanogen or any other mod.

This day and age, being able to brick your phone should be a crime punishable by death to the phone maker. How fucking hard is it to split the boot loader and OS so that one should be able to recover even the most difficult OS fuckups or bad flushes. Seriously, Samsung is terrible, just terrible.

i once bricked s2 by flashing wrong kernel
flashed wrong kernel on lg 2x many times on purpose, recovered without a problem with stock 2.3
lg phones are truly unbrickable

i decided to get the lg g2. Left my ID card in another city so I cant make bank transfers over 200 euros :/. Ill order it when I go back there to continue with my studies. I tried the 16gb version at the shop for a bit and it wasnt as cumbersome as I had expected. Anyone know how easily such big phones break? should I get some protection around it?

you should have gone with LG Nexus 5 instead. specs are very similar to G2 but it's stock android without bloat, instant OS updates, unlocked bootloader etc.

durability almost entirely depends on users tbh. i never used any protection for S3, S4 and they were/are in mint condition, while my friends use all kinds of ugly cases and their phones are busted up messes.

i was never planning on staying with stock rom anyways. ill swap it to cyanogenmod asap and 4.4 update should be coming soon. ill maybe try that. everything except software seems better on lg g2. i ordered a ballistic case just in case. My current phone as endured 2.5 years with a few drops, but lg g2 seems much more fragile.
