well i got past the " virtual cd\dvds software detected" message ... reinstalled windows xp instead of 2k and now it plays fine

only takes 30 minutes tops , i have win 2k and xp ghost images of a complete setup of all the stuff i need , so its no hassle. i think its ok , just what i expected really

Fuck, the ores are hard to get! I can hardly get any ores @ the 5th island. Or whatever that 2nd Japanese Island.. (the one where you are facing the older brother, or he seems to be the older brother). I can hardly build any walls due to the lack of ores, while the Japanese has bottomless ore pit... FUCK! I don't know what to do now. I'm mostly playing good. actually, good all the way
I am about 97% of goodness, and the creature is 100%.

by any chance does anyone know IF/WHEN there will be a trainer out for this game? (Yeah i know it ruins the game blah blah blah) I really would like a trainer though because im not good at this game but I really like it at the same time.

I tried it and the only thing happening when clicking the icon is a short blink of the starting screen (less than a second) then it returns to desktop... no error message, nothing...(same effect after try with AntiBlaxx)
Under Windows XP its working (only with AntiBlaxx, otherwise I get the "Emulation Software found..." error) but unplayable because the sound is completely distorted and stuttering (SB Audigy 2 ZS, newest drivers).
the sound problems I have with some other games, too, thats why I normally prefer playing under Win2000 (dual boot system), but, as mentioned, B+W2 is not working under Win2000 on my system.... 
any suggestions?

nope , i had the exact same problem under win 2k , switched to xp and it runs fine with newest d-tools , no need for antiblaxx or anything.

yup. just get the newest daemon tools, I had x.333, didn't work. now is x.347 or so, works great....

v4 is supposed to be released this month 
just so u know, daemon 3.47 is still kinda quite old, shoulda upgraded a lloooong time ago |

I've had it with this game, I can play AoE III on 1280*1024 full detail, but the stupid black & white game i have to reduce the graphic settings to 800*600 and low detail and still i have a bit of lag when building a big city.

Heh theres a bit of a difference between the two graphically. Try zooming out to the sky on AoE, oh sorry you can't. Try zooming down to the grass, oh sorry you can't.

And i cant play AoE3 at that resolution with full graphics and high anti-aliasing, yet i can play black & white 2 at that resolution with full graphics and high anti-aliasing.
