There wont really be anything tangible to yarr, they are releasing elements, not full game in an alpha state like, for example, Prison Architect. If there is anything to release, I could try I gues, but I doubt it will be worth anything to anyone.

There seem to be a few missions or scenarios people can play. I am in the beta myself. Alpha was just a lil too expensive for my taste. Got this youtube link from the elite forums.

Edit: There is a guy streaming alpha here: http://www.twitch.tv/kerrashlanding

Wow this looks pretty polished for an alpha. The sound design is also top notch. I am pleasantly surprised.

I am so glad proper space sims seem to be making a come-back. I wouldn't mind a Freespace 3 either, but Star Citizen might fill that gap. Although SC is starting to give me a bad vibe. So much focus on publicity, so little actual content.

Great news. Newtonian flight... I thought they would go only fly-by-wire.
I like the cockpit. I sense already an Elite feeling in the ship control. I also like the engine sounds.
So far so good. Smile

40 euro ( and no alpha-beta included) for a game that only made 2 millions... That doesn't seem right. The videos are really good but I don't think they should ask for AAA money on a mid budget game.

When? Even the kickstarter started with £20 for the digital copy. Dont confuse £ (british pound) with € (euro)

You saw what you were paying for when you put down your money, why complain now? It's not like they lied to you... you payed for what you got/

Oh yeah thats my bad. I seemed to remember i paid 20$, but it was 20£.
Still not even close to 40 EUR though.

Edit: which i find fair. It should be an advantage to back the game using kickstarter. A lot of poeple on this forum didnt believe the game would ever be developent, and opted not to back it. Thats fine, but then if you want it now. Pay the price Smile
Or pirate it.

So far, the only thing that really sticks out is that you have to turn and move the nose up/down to go in a new direction even with a mouse. Why can't we move it left/right? Looks very uncomfortable. This makes aiming a pain in the ass.

It's the very same thing that makes flying in Planetside 2 pretty much unplayable for a rookie.

Other than that, it looks/sounds amazing, the lighting on the engines and shield are gorgeous, the weapons and the engine sound great, etc. Fix the controls, add what one would expect from an Elite game and it will be a worthy successor.

Could be a limitation of the "assisted mode" thing perhaps?

you can strafe left and right, rolling is just how it used to be in classic elite. you can configure the controls how u want.

Yeah, I know how it was in the original, but that doesn't make it any less painful to watch, let alone play. Razz

Good to know you can put it on strafe instead of roll, this is what kept me from flying in PS2.
