Ok, installed rebug 4.46 and was gutted to find out there is no 4.50. Had planned to watch spotify on it as i don't have my computer here. This laptop can't run movies without massive stuttering. Is there a way to get it online? some trick?

keep in mind the risk of being banned, there is a way to bypass the ban,but the best of them is to change console ID which can cost money.

Thanks Sabin!
I don't care about getting banned. I can still update games, and that's the essentials. I won't get off CFW so everytime i get online it's a risk.

I *love* that about PSN/SEN, the ability to update your games without being signed into PSN. I mean.. it's pointless.. everyone is signed into PSN anyhow, it's free so why not right?, but still... the separation is just nice.

Because some updates are signed with 4.50 and the particular CFW some guys are using are lower than 4.50

That's not true and SEN Enabler doesn't have anything to do with 4.50 updates - it's for gaining access to PSN (nowadays called "Sony Entertainment Network" or SEN) on firmwares lower than the latest FW which is required for network access.

I stand corrected (that'll teach me to post at 2am after drinking all night). I wonder why I installed SEN Enabler then as I don't go online? I know it's something to do with GTA V - oh, that's right, it was to get access to one of the stock markets when doing the assassination missions.

Regarding unbanning ps3, for anyone out there with experencing purchasing consoleid/psid from sources like https://www.facebook.com/UnbanPS3, are they legit? or reliable, they claim ids are from dead consoles, I'm leaning toward taking a risk, but 30GBP is little much I reckon. Has anyone got links of places where cheaper ids can be purchased?

noob question - if i buy ps3 with, lets say Rogero 4.46 1.03 and multiman 4.30 - will i have any problem playing downloaded games (singleplayer only, multi doesnt interest me)? how does it work exactly, you just run iso via some app? does it matter if it is run via ps3 hdd, external usb connected hdd or pendrive?

You can run your games from external or internal, games with files bigger than 4gb are problematic since the external drive has FAT32. You will need to split the files and let Multiman join them on your internal drive or use FTP to upload it directly to the internal HDD.
You copy the gamedata directly, no ISO. When the game is on the HDD you just launch it from Multiman which then boots you back to the XMB, there you simply go to "Games>Bluray Icon ( your game name)" and launch it.

Afaik some games with big 4+gb files work via external splitted by checking External Game Data+USB patch in Multiman.

so if game has files over 4gb its less hassle to just upload whole game to internal via ftp or smth? i guess that most of exclusive games are bigger ones with bigger files, right? any trouble runing some new games like gta5/last of us with rogero 4.45/46? do you often need to patch games and mess around with files or most of them just works?
do i need original copy to turn downloaded ones? most of those auctions with modded ps3 have some original game with them
overall - anything i should keep in mind while looking for that kind of ps3?

internal hdd is preferred method to play games on cfw, at least for me. no need to jump hoops to get something to work, just ftp and play.
try to find slim ps3 with cfw, they are multiple times less prone to get YLOD than old fat consoles.

all games released so far run on roger 4.46, its a good idea to have an original game disc, since not all of them run in discless mode yet.
and yes, it is important you get a 3.55 slim, forget about fats - you are bound to get a problem with them sooner or later.

so, should i totally forget about fat even when all games run via hdd/usb? i could buy cheap fat with 750gigs of games. i plan to play some of the best exclusives and sell it again. Should i only consider slims?

A fat'll be fine, just don't pay a lot for it. Fats have a chance of YLOD'ing on you.

There's no risk or trouble, you can run your games completely offline and even if the machine is banned from PSN you can still update your games via the net, all it needs is a net connection. As for how it can be banned? Obviously it was connected at one point, running CFW/etc and then got banned.

for 100% game compatibility you do.
But if you install one of these Cobra 7.0 CFW, you can load up 100% of the games without any disc.
