There's a quest where I'm supposed to steal 4 gunpowder kegs on the Nassau island.
Except when I approach the barrel and it tells me to press E to steal, nothing happens. The camera locks in and my character just stand there staring at it.
I have the 3dm version, updated to 1.02. I've tried restarted the memory and it didn't do anything. Anyone else with this problem?
Didn't have any problems, but I assume you are aware it's not just press E to steal, but hold E for a few seconds to steal?
You didnt read itt correctly , they are asking about new pirate based ip and about next AC games
They didnt say so, but I am just careful.

Likewise, I'm enjoying the modern day segments in AC4 as well Smile
Dont really know why
I just don't like changes of atmosphere. One moment I am pirate/assasin, next I am hacking some PC with some strange ball-turning-even. Don't know what is interesting in it.
Thou I must say that in AC4 they implement rather ok. And idea of commercial digging DNA for some rich ppl sounds ok.
I feel kind of the opposite way. Early on (especially in AC1, but really until AC3) I felt the modern day story tied things together and gave everything an intriguing backdrop, but with AC4 it's starting to feel like they've lost their way with it.. the best times I had in that game were really the pirating, not the templar connection or the modern-day timeskips - if anything they made it feel like Edward was just a throwaway guy researched for entertainment purposes, which in turn reduced my sense of immersion and investment in his character.
A game where you get to build up and take some control of your own fate rather than having your life be controlled by a millennia-old struggle and powerful beings attempting to act through you, might actually be better.
That feeling when you are trying to hit something on the deck of a man-o-war with the swivel gun while boarding it's like I'm to short and I can't reach
A Ubisoft survey sent to fans suggests what the developer/publisher is thinking about for Assassin's Creed V. The questions also present the possibility that Ubisoft is considering a new, pirate-centric series separate from what it accomplished in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
"In such a game," a follow-up question says of a non-Assassin's Creed-branded pirate game, "what would be the most important elements among these below?" Choices include a customizable pirate character, ship, and hideout, a deeper economy, and additional activities at sea or on land. More interestingly, it inquires about player interest in cooperative and multiplayer naval combat, asking survey subjects if they would like to "sail and fight with my friends" and "sail and fight with other players."
Additionally, Ubisoft's survey asks what players would most like to see in a new Assassin's Creed -- including a new modern day hero, perhaps indicating something similar to Desmond's narrative arc rather than AC4's abstract, meta modern day storytelling. The questionnaire also inquired about more high-level subjects, such as desired gameplay improvements and historical settings.
Yes plz, make new Pirate game franchise, unconnected to Assassin's Creed with a new (and challenging) combat system and all that buzz from above.
Quickly wanted to check if any online aspect is required to 100% this game? Cause if it is, then I can ditch my 100% run right now and just complete this fucking game.
Watch Dogs will be set in the same universe as Assassin creed, There is a document about Blume Corporation and cTos on one of the computer you can hack in the modern era. Would be pretty cool if it was. Sort of like a parallel story going on in the same universe with cross references and stuff like that. Something a little more elaborate than onl easter eggs without overlapsing each other too much.
Now sorry if it was mentionned before but i didn't read all the 100 pages and avoided the spoilers tags like the plague while playing the game

Yes.
Spoiler:
AC Black Flag is a game being made inside AC Universe. Not a parallel story trough. Watchdoge is some years after AC4 'normal' storyline.
- Desmond dies
- We play AC4, Juno still weak.
- Some years after that we are in the Watchdoge games.
Man, this game is taking me forever to beat haha, I keep getting side tracked by secondary missions.... and I'm having a blast doing it.
I never though I would have so much fun exploring the sea, looking for collectibles, treasure hunting, hunting animals, all that good stuff. This game... I do like.
Kind of funny, they pump out a new AC every year, and you would think after so many it would just turn into another CoD bullshit fest, but I really feel they did it right this time. Sure there are some things that aren't perfect about AC4, but it's fun, and that's where it counts.

Oh there's no doubt Ubisoft are milking the AC teet raw, but there's also no doubt they really hit the good spot with AC4. It's incredible and I'm still playing it

Well... I agree with you, I just need to add that I hate the moment I need to leave my ship ;P
Running, killing and such are okish... but the sea part of the game is really refreshing!
It was stated already many times, but I need to repeat - I want new proper sea game!

Hey dont be so hard the little console eunuchs, they need time to aim their lil vibratin thumbstick.
Pretty much how I feel as well. I just wish the was more variety to weapons, I've discussed this with sabin before. You can disarm/pickup weapons off of enemies, but you don't get to sheathe and keep it on you. Swords... I'm tired of them, I feel like I've seen every animation they offer. I bought the most expensive swords from the shop early on in the game, and.... now what.... no reason for me to ever get anything else.... oh ya... 4 pistols... yyaaaaaaayyy
I want to choose a dagger sometimes, maybe a hammer, axe, big ass 2 handed sword.... what happened to all of this, I liked all those weapons
Either way, still having loads of fun.
*edit*
Now that I think about it... is there even a way to disarm the guy with the axe? All you can do for counter is roll out of his way, I've never been able to disarm him. Only pick up his weapon after I kill him and after I'm out of combat.... kind of defeats the purpose...

Yeah, I meant to say hold E.
I have literally stolen 1,000s and have never been caught, even when standing in a crowd for cover. AI are dumb as a doormat when it comes to pick pocketing.
As to the comments about a proper pirates/sailing game....this would be a good base to work off and make it a true rpg, yes?
it would be but i'm not really holding my breath to if they will personally i'm looking really forward to see what the piratesahoy community is gonna do in their game so far their work has been really promising and there has gone alot of time into historically acurate ships battles etc
Personally i sort of got bored collecting chests , animus fragments etc about half way through. It was fun at first but the thing i didnMt like is that you can pretty much see everything on your map which sort of defeat the whole purpose of exploration imho. The best were the treasures maps since you actually had to search a bit for them (even though if it's not really difficult at all.)
I wish collecting stuff was more like in GTA where you actually have to search and work to find your stuff but that's not really a big kock on the game. Still had a lot of fun overall

Lots of little islands you would stop at, disembark, search in vain and then rinse and repeat. Agree that the markers kill the enjoyment somewhat, but.....

That's true but on almost every little island you can disembark there is a chest/animus fragments/crate anyway so i don't think it would be that bad. Most of them aren't very big eiither so searching wouldn't be that time consuming.
It would become more challenging on the bigger islands and cities but it would feel more rewarding too. With the current system everything is pretty much spoon fed to you , except for those areas where you need to destroy a fort to reveal more stuff or a couple of red areas bu that's about it.
But anyway as i said it doen't ruin the game but it could be better
Well collecting chests is pretty much "open map -> mark chest -> run to chest -> open chest", gets old fast. I can't blame the game for that though, collecting meaningless shit is essential in games now.
