damn, i think i figured out the ctd (in my case anyways) anyone who has the problem with the 6600gt try disabling depth of field in your video settings. something seems to be buggy with that setting. with it turned off have been able to play the game for 30 mins straight.
now theres just the bug with my laser mouse, but a lionhead dev is aware of that one so all set.

Am on the 7th island now, playing almost pure good (some clashes with armies but nothing really spectacular).
I wanted to play evil but decided to (as i do with most evil/good games) to try the good way first.
My tiger is a giant fluffy toy who helps with stuff in the towns. My biggest complaint is that there litterally isnt anything to do. I just build the city and then im done. Where is the challenge for the ones who play as a good god? If the opponents send armies to kill me i just send out my tiger outside of my walls, close the gate and watch him finish them off. I havent been close to losing once so far and im in no way an above average RTS/god-player.
In a few words i'd describe B&W as a insanely beautiful world-simulator with moronic villagers without any will of their own.
Hopefully there will be more fun to play evil.

Anyone else having sound problems with this release. When I play it there is an annoying distortion coming from my speakers. I thought maybe it was my equipment, but I turned the game off and turned on HL2, fine. Turned on some music, fine. Only thing with distortion is B&W2.

They hope 1.2 is compatable with 1.1? This kind of stuff is hardly acceptable.

And it's also the reason I've decided not to patch and to continue playing to the end. I MIGHT patch afterwards and play through again, but I doubt it.

Okay, I have been trying all night to morning to get this going, When I try to mount CD1 .cue with EITHER alcohol/daemon it wont work, I have tried Virtual CD hide.
I also tried anti blaxx, configured it, but it decided to die on me, leaving a 404 error.
Help me please!
edit: says "CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable all CD/DVD emulation software and re-start the game"
[ OK ]

I've been trying hard to like this game but it's just not happening. It feels the same as the first. The RTS elements that they added are rather bad. AI is stupid. You just tell the creature yes, no or maybe to each action. Having to rebuild slowly on each land is a pain. Maybe if there was some challenge to it it might be fun but its just easy. Blah. Don't know why I expected anything different in the sequel.

Then use Anti-Blaxx !!! |
tried antiblaxx , it crashes and says out of memory , tried virtual cd hide but the splash screen appears then goes.

It's hard to guage what you people were expecting with this game, but I think alot of you were expecting far too much.
I never expected more than two units type for combat, because it was never hinted at, show or promised there would be more. I was surprised by the siege weaponry.
I never expected some deep morally driven gameplay, with a huge philosophic backend that make us contemplate life the universe and everything. (that CGW review had me cracking up he was so off the mark, lol)
I expected a hugely enhanced Creature Training interface. I got it, but it has been dumbed down alot. B&W1 creatures felt alot more trainable., but the B&W2 creatures feel alot more USEful.
I expected "more of the same". Why? Because even P. Mol-whatever complained how shitty and tech-demo-y B&W1 was. To me, B&W2 feels exactly what I'd have expected in 1.
I love the fact that you can simply play the game as some dumbed down city building simulator and win. I played island four just building a good city. Pillars, fountains, nice housing, fertility statues, road networks. I had this awesome farmland area with granaries and stuff. And I won. I didn't attack anyone (except to send my creature out to defend incoming immigrants and man did I laugh when he kicked an entire platoon into the ocean!)
I got what I expected, and more. A playable Black and White. It's all I wanted. It sucks that it didn't turn out do be some miraculous deeply thought provoking journey through human morality that some of you expected, and I'm sorry you don't like the game. But it is alot more fun than B&W1, and if you can't appreciate that you're just a crotchety gomer.
i can has computar?!

cd1 is NOT .cue, this is the cloned image so wouldnt be bin/cue

Or do you create one yourself?
