Not related; fixed the artifact crashy thing, yay. Running the opengl exe and disabled threaded optimization, which were some of the workarounds for some other issues. Figured I'd try. Was able to play for hours, so onwards to silver! Very Happy

- Revamping the warmth bar to make it more obvious (suggestion by thedbp on reddit)
- Increase mining speed a little
-Add numbers above the hotbar slots
- Craftable climbing ropes!

- Make sure hunger bar is always shown when eating food

- Make hunger bar display when the alt key is held down
- Added a dumb, quick way to advance through some of the tier 4-10 content (armors, weapons), just for fun.
Complete tiers of content are coming really soon. I’d like to get 1/2 tiers of content done per week.
- Fixed a bug where minibosses over level 11 were not dropping the rare items they were supposed to be dropping.
They now drop guns. (Thank you to <ippia> for finding this)
- Ufos should hopefully not fly off anymore, they were actually flying off to attack birds!
- Tons of bug fixes
More coming really soon!

if u drop dirt blocks and dig them back out you can clear a safe area and build a base at the center of the world Very Happy

Not sure if it was fixed in this latest patch, but DO NOT REACH THE MAX STORAGE ON YOUR SHIP'S LOCKER!

You keep adding stuff into containers, and even if you reach the limit of a chest, items will keep going in. After breaking it, everything you put in will fall out, but you cannot break the ship locker, so it can become an endless trashbin.

So after all the wait, keeping in mind that this is a beta, do you guys enjoy it?

I really do! I have like 20hrs in already hehehe!

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that one of the dev said that there would be at least 1 mech in the beta. Has anyone found a way to get it?

Also, the new snow armor is really REALLY good!!

Gives a lot of warmth, and you get 13 DEF from it, all that from leather!

Yeah, it's beta, but it is already on the level of Terraria. So despite my misgivings about the whole development process, I'm happy with my purchase so far. Smile

I just hope their bosses will be as varied and unique as the Terraria bosses.

No it's not, don't be silly. Far from balanced (took me 10 hours to get a silver pick and 14 to build a beacon - and that's because I looted NPC towns, UFO fight is too hard unless you actually know what to expect and which gear you need, pixel costs, etc), spelunking is way less interesting and rewarding than in Terraria are just a couple of areas where it should still improve massively.

Guess I've been unlucky. Maybe... 10+ hours in, and I haven't found anything yet.

Mined all the way to lava, build a tiny castle under the lava for fun, mined tons of copper,iron, silver and gold. Upgraded to gold pickaxe, but there's simply nothing on my planet.

One village with aggressive baddies that kill me with single hit (I cheesed them easily some blocks and iron hunting bow, but got some crappy quality melee weps ( mobs used rifles and bazookas).

As a staunch Terraria disliker (and Minecraft.. and Junk Jack) I went into this just out of boredom and curiosity. 12 hours later I was still playing Yeah, it's safe to say this grabbed me by nuts Very Happy I do have to agree with some of the posts above though; early progression can be insanely slow and it took me 8 hours++ to get a silver pickaxe - though once I did I was immeasurably happier with mining.

That's the problem with complet randomisation I guess.

I took me like 4hrs to buid a set of silver armor, and summon the tier 1 boss! Also I didnt spent time digging down for ore. I only take what's is on the surface.

Fly to a planet, beam down and put 2 torches (so I know when I did the whole "turn of the planet) walk around getting the ore and looting chests in villages / castles / temple. Once I come back to my torches, pick em up, beam up and next planet!

Anyone got issues with teleporter from ship to planet just sending u right back to teleporter in ship lol have to do it like 3 + times to get a land on the planet.

i found a penal colony Very Happy looks like fort knox with barbwire and fencing etc its great Very Happy

oh god what a cheat, you can place anything into the 3d printer and if u press E after it dupes it lol Very Happy not intended im sure, no cost and any iteml. I seem to have some sort of bug though nothing can be placed in the scanner and reproduced, nothing at all so far. Was working with seeds etc before patch.

I found an underground prison being ran by other humans, holding Florans captive -- everyone was hostile Laughing Luckily the shield blocks all the assault rifle fire it's just a shame that none of the enemies dropped the guns when I killed them.. just axes and swords Sad

Yeah it can be twitchy, I've plummeted to my death quite a few times from dropping through four sets of stairs rather than just one Very Happy Now I just ctrl-down and then immediately let go of ctrl and press up.

.... and goddamnit, I said I wasn't going to but I went back to play anyhow Crying or Very sad

Ok to get the Arr version LAN working----

Don't use the starbound.exe, instead use the starbound launcher, use launch starbound server in bottom right, let it run for a minute, then start your server and have friend join with your IP address.

I have a problem with multiplayer though....we both start out on different ships, at different planets, and the starmap is HUGE making it near impossible to figure out where we're both at.

If I close the server tab down, it kicks us both out, so we're definitely on the same server, just not starting out with each other.

Anyone done multiplayer yet, and if so how the hell do you find each other?

You can always invite him in your party and warp to his ship

OR

In the starmap, you can see the galaxy coords (You need to zoom out until you see the galaxy, then the coords of the solar system will appear in red in the bottom right corner, X and Y.)

So give him these coords, and once there finding the planet is easy pie

Ok guys, PSA time. Plan carefully when rearranging your ship storage. If you accidentally destroy a chest full of goodies, and you cannot pick them up right away, all the stuff that fell out will despawn in about 15-20 seconds.
