I think that's normal, unfinished items and what not. I get it too but the server itself works fine.

RNG hates me; 'best' weapon I've found is some uncommon spear called Poop Prodder, and my kid brother finds an insane legendary sword almost right after he gets a flying V guitar. All I got is a drum set that makes weird noises when I play a song. Crying or Very sad

Went to a Class 10 threat planet, got some nice loot. Froze to death only twice Very Happy

My starting one is boring as hell. It's moon is more interesting, has a ginormous underground base. Think I'll move there, even if it's arid and has very cold nights.

Sabin, if you have not figured it out yet, the correct item is "Wooden cooking table", crafted at crafting table. That plus wheat means unlimited bread.

Lots of these puns seem to be inside jokes. The "Get Out" on the wall decal is a frequently used emoticon from the Something Awful forums where the devs are active too. "The Alpha Horsebutt" stems from an internal IRC channel the devs hang out at, where an IRC bot routinely replaces popular words with butt. If someone, for instance, says Starbound, the bot might immediately reply with Buttbound.

Yeah, I already found it a while back thanks - but I think either my game is bugged or I'm missing something, perhaps schematics? I can only craft up to Silver Armor (which is upgraded from Copper/Scavenger) but SpykeZ has Bronze/iron/Knave, etc. I can't even SCRATCH the UFO boss either Sad

~edit~

Checking online tells me the boss is actually meant to be a late-area boss, designed for when you're facing lv9/lv10 threat planets. You *can* cheese kill the boss by chipping away with the Iron Bow (chip is the word.. 10+ shots and you'll be lucky to scratch him) whilst running continuously left/right, or building a bunker and trapping him under blocks - but egh, no point. I'd rather wait until later when there's better equipment as I had the best armour I could currently craft *and* the best craftable single-handed weapon too.

@Bendi

Aye! I noticed the "block him in" cheese strategy online and I actually did try it at first but as soon as I tried to go outside and higher in order to start building the blocks above him... he just moved upwards out of the way Facepalm

@moosenoodles

Yeah, I saw... let's make a ridiculously difficult boss even harder

Better to kill him now, eh Very Happy ? Will last until the next wipe.

He's not unbeatable, but almost needs grenades to be properly dealt with without an arena. Better armor piercing weapons are made with steel, and you need the core to make the bench. And you can't get the core, because your weapons are to weak Laughing. Vicious circle.

@sabin Have you tried it with a hole under the arena? You spawn it, drop, wait for it to hover down, then quickly lock him in. Hope there will be more options for getting the molten core, if not the firts hours for a new char will be really boring.

*One, maybe two, shot kill whilst wearing Scavenger Armour
*10+ Iron Bow shots doesn't even scratch his health
*Teleports in lv10 Penguins that get increasingly difficult - eventually spawning in a tank and with bazookas that two-shot kill you

Nooooo, he's not THAT hard honest Laughing I'll pass. I still want to know why SpykeZ can craft a lot more armour than I could, Silver was the highest I saw but SpykeZ had Iron/Bronze/Knave too.

~edit~

And yes, like I said; every time I tried to get higher so I could build a wall above him, he would just climb higher before I had the chance. It's all good though, I'd forgotten about the character wipes and I'm not keen on doing everything all over again, multiple times, so I'm done for now Smile I'll come back to it when they're in Phase 3 and it has the plot/structure without the worry or threat of character wipes. I have to say though, this impressed the hell out of me - I was playing for nearly 12 sodding hours grinhurt Thanks for all the advice everyone, I had a blast and hopefully I'll pick this up in a sale or something when it's done.

Well he is rigth, the game id HUMONGOUS.

The planets themselves have no end, right? I mean I ran for half an hour, saw a docked wooden pirate skyship (damn propellers killed me Smile ) and srill nothing . In Terraria you'd hit the edge of the world sooner or later, here it jyst seems to go on forever.

Thought it might, but died too many times (damn falling...where's my lucky horseshoe Smile ) to see it myself.

Heh, I also just realised that the two guys I killed on my planet were part of the group I slaughtered later on it's moon. The grafitti ("Promised they's come back for us") makes sense now. I really like how the game is shaping up and understand why it's taking so long, it's so large it could almost be a persistent online world .

Oh, has anyone dug down deep enough to see what's there? Noy expecting Hell, but digging to the core of a planet would be awesome Wink

You can dig to the core, yes. Basically a lot of lava. Is damage from lava implemented yet? I saw someone on twitch going around the world by swimming in lava a few days ago. You were able to easily create air pockets to breathe, and since you are as low as you can go, so you'd find good amounts of ore Laughing
