Played this at weekend on brothers PS4 and it does look very blurry? 900p upscaled to 1080p combined with FXAA? Not really kind combo even on 27" Full HD screen. Can only imagine how shitty it looks on big HDTV. Also man it looks horrible when there is constantly FPS drops from solid 60 to lets say around 30s (would have been better really to put just solid 30-40fps).

but yeah usually nextgen games look better on big screens with lower resolution, pixel density
for some still looks like shit but if u have cyclonefr 46" screen and his eyes it will look good

game runs 50-60fps 95% of the time, with only a few occasion of dropping below 50, haven't seen it reach 30s as per Derpeezers claim Laughing
pretty impressive for a launch title. 360/ps3 launch titles performed a lot worse.

You seem to get really offended every fucking time when someone says something bad about PS4?. Very nice to bash my claims with some digital foundry video which shows one map, also that map is very light graphically, i was playing the city maps, they are very intense.

its all relative Breezer, sure consoles will never have games as smooth as a pc with good hardware, but compared to the last gen launch, the ps4 games´performance so far is pretty impressive.

I think Breezer is too harsh about it : even a PC that can run BF4 60fps with vsync on in 1080p is quite complicated.

On PC there is always that driver issue or that optimization issue that sometimes will make you go down to 45fps for 1sec because you look at some smoke or particules that is buggy and kills your FPS....

That being said, I only played the first 2 levels on PS4, and it was constant 60fps at least, and thus felt much more enjoyable than the very same game on my PC in 1080p (Core i5 3.4Ghz + GeForce 780M 4GB vram, so not that shitty).

Im not being harsh, im just sharing my personal honest opinion about the FPS, not some IGN wood eye "smooth as butter" claims. Ofcourse things will get better in the future when developers takes their thumbs out of their asses and start coding proper multithreaded next-gen engines with nice optimization (really hoping it adds to PC aswell). Very Happy

PS. cant wait for Naughty Dog PS4 games, those guys do so amazing shit...

you constantly talk trash about consoles, so someone has to set balance. you post 360 game screenshot and say its ps4, you say BF4 drops to 30fps but in reality it's 50-60fps.

here's me on the right btw

Been playing single player BF4 on PS4 for the last 5 hours or so now and got to the tram scene where Dima gets killed. Must be near the end now?

Anyway the game has crashed to the XMB once with this screen or something similar ...

Finished the single player campaign. I reckon it was about 7 hours. It was a complete blast and I loved it from start to finish. Its not weak at all IMO. Had one crash as mentioned previously and never lost any save data! Smile

Also played a few hours online and again OMG I love it! Looks so nice and has a solid framerate throughout. No crashes or issues either strangely enough!

This one will keep me busy for a while and I have zero regrets shelling out fifty quid for it!

To add on to this:

They slowed down development drastically for Mirrors Edge and Star Wars Battlefront because BF4 is not working as it should be, lol

If you've been having trouble killing people in Battlefield 4 for seemingly no reason, or if your own weaponry has been mysteriously killing you, maybe this bug—which is showcased in the video above by jackfrags—is to blame. Jack Frags calls the bug the "death shield." Thankfully, if a body disappears, the shot is likely to start connecting again.

But until that happens, you can have situations where someone dies in/near a vehicle or person...which you can't destroy or kill because the death shield is absorbing all the damage. That's no good!

Hopefully DICE patches this ridiculous bug out soon.

I don,t want to play the Devil Advocate or anything but the PS4 version does drop to 30ish FPS on certain map on a full 64 player server. It normally does run in the 50-60 FPS range but as i said some maps run shittier than the others. Hanoi Resort if a good exemple of this.

And that's not coming out of my ass as i do have a PS4 with BF4. In fact it's the only game i have with the console

That said they fixed the rubberbanding in the last couple of days with the servers upgrade and it's running better now.

If you want to try out the expansions to Battlefield 4 or Battlefield Hardline now would be a good time to open up your favorite store.

EA announced that they were doing a "road to Battlefield 1" which consisted of releasing the expansions to both games for free for one week, a single pack at a time. If you missed any of them you can now simply get them all at once.
