So i had a linksys router before, was pretty old decided to give it the boot since it kept having issues where i had to reset it to get it working again.
Now since there was a black friday offer, and i thought hey what the heck i'm just gonna buy a cheap router/receiver since i dont need it for more than 2 pcs anyway.. well... idk wtf i'm supposed to do to get it working at proper speeds.

The router is a http://www.emag.ro/asus-rt-n10e-stylish-wireless-150n-router-150mbps-super-speed-ieee-802-11b-g-n-rt-n10e-bf13/pd/DLTPJBBBM/

And for the pc it's connected to it works perfectly fine (obviously by cable that one). 100mb/s dl 30mb/s ul etc.
But, on the other pc to which i connected a wireless adapter on (asus as well) http://www.emag.ro/asus-wl-167gv3-wireless-n150-adapter-ieee-802-11b-g-n-usb2-0-up-to-150mbps-wireless-data-rate-64-128-bit-wep-tkip-aes-wpa-wpa2-psk-wl-167g-v3/pd/E95B7BBBM/#Opinion_Anchor

...

It's bad. I mean really bad. Did a speedtest and it's only reaching 4mb/s ul of a 6mb/s.
Whenever i open a internet page, my ping (got a ping running in the background) goes from stable 20ms to 1000-2000ms to load the goddamn page...
Am i fucked? Is this a common occurence? Do i need to go back to another cable through my house?

Thanks.

Hm i just changed a setting in the router config to put me to channel 9 instead of auto, just some random crap i read on the internet, and suddenly my dl went to 25mb/s ul to 16mb/s and ping stays at 20ms while dld-ing opening pages etc, 300ms max when ul'ing at max speed.

Fingers crossed.

Get a WiFi analyser application. Either on desktop or on your phone if you've got Android/iOS. Then you can find which channels will give you the best signal.

Sounds like you've got a fair bit interference, so you'll need to select the right channel. You'll never actually get 150 Mbps (due to WiFi overhead, signal strength), but some 40-50 should be doable close range.

Yeah gonna try that as well werelds thanks. Currently working perfectly though, so i'm not gonna touch it unless something else happens Razz.

Kind of a newb when it comes to wireless networks since i never really bothered with them.
